Know This I

‘Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth’ Phil.2:9-10.

You need to know a couple of things that will be of immense value to you when it comes to warfare.  First and foremost is the supremacy of Jesus. Jesus is the head of all principalities and powers. ‘Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father’ Phil.2:9-11. The three sections highlighted in the quoted scripture represent three battlefields. Yet regardless of the battlefield one thing is undeniable and that is the supremacy of Jesus [Matt.28:18]. As a believer, you must understand the supremacy of Jesus. ‘Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creationCol.1:15. Jesus is not just the Son of God; Jesus is God, you must understand that. Jesus is not just a way to the Father; Jesus is the Way. Understanding the supremacy of Jesus alone is enough fuel for your confidence because Jesus has invited you and I to be seated with Him in heavenly places far above principalities, powers, thrones, dominions, and everything that is named. Knowing who you are makes you confident in who you are and where you are positioned spiritually. So how can you be enduring torment every night when you are seated together with Christ? You are complete in Him who is the head of all principalities and powers.

The second thing you need to know is that you are not alone in battle. They that are for you are more than they that are against you [2 Kings 6:15-17]. You are not alone regardless of how you feel and regardless of what you see. The fact that Elisha’s servant couldn’t see the angels did not mean he was alone. And God didn’t just begin to send the angels when Elisha wanted to open his eyes, the angels were present already. You need to know that you are never alone. And above all, God is with you.

Prayer: Father, help me grasp the supremacy of Jesus, who I am, and where you have placed me spiritually. Help me remember that I am never alone, in Jesus Name.
