Be Sensitive
1 Kings 3:9&12 “…give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong… I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be” (NIV)
Discernment is indispensable in life and in relationships. The more discerning you are, the more right doors you will open. The door of relationships for example, how do you know the person to go out with? Discernment. How do you know the right person to get married to? Discernment. If you run a business, how do you know the people to hire? Discernment. How do you know where to place people? Discernment. Discerning what is behind the doors we are presented with in this decade of destiny is crucial. I was speaking to someone, and the person was telling me how he has had a series of bad relationships – one bad relationship, after another.
So, I said to him something I say to people who come to me with similar concerns. It had nothing to do with the other people he was in a relationship with because they were all different people. However, the common denominator in all the bad relationships is you. You need to open your heart to God to teach you and empower you on how to make the right choices and how to be discerning. In God’s Favourite House, and I believe in every church family, the Pastors, Ministers, and leaders are there to teach, empower and equip people on how to discern between what doors to open and what doors not to open. And it is because your destiny will be shaped by which doors you walked past and which doors you walk through.
The first thing we need to know about doors is, Doors Are Metaphors For The Choices We Make In Our Everyday Lives. The second thing is Our Destiny Will Be Shaped By Which Doors We Walk Past And Which Doors We Walk Through. The third thing we need to know and understand about doors is, that a door may be three things: A door may be An Opportunity From God. A door may be A Distraction From Others. A door may be A Trap From Satan. A door may actually be An Opportunity From God. Paul speaking in 1 Corinthians 16:9 “A huge door of opportunity for good work has opened up here.” (MSG).
Classic equation – Opportunity plus Opposition equals God’s will [Opportunity + Opposition = God’s Will]. We see a door of opportunity from God, and we walk into it, then we experience opposition. A lot of people start to doubt if it was actually God’s will. Listen, God’s will attracts opposition. The fact that you are experiencing opposition does not mean it is not God’s will.
Prayer: Father, please give me a wise and discerning heart to distinguish between right doors and wrong doors so that I will bring glory to Your Name, in Jesus Name. Amen!
