Your Response, III
Psalm 27:1 “Yahweh, The Lord is my light and my salvation, my revelation-light and the source of my salvation — so why should I be afraid? I fear no one! The Lord is my fortress, protecting me. I’ll never turn back and run, for you, Yahweh, surround and protect me.” (NLT, TPT)
Psalm 114:1-7 “When the Israelites escaped from Egypt—when the family of Jacob left that foreign land—the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom. The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away. The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs! What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away? Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs? Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.” (emphasis added). Amazing!
Was it at the sight of Israel that the Red Sea hurry away? Why will the lions see you and skip like rams? It is the light of Jehovah that is shining upon you. It is the presence of Jehovah that is overshadowing and enveloping your house even right now, in the Name of Jesus. His light has come, and His glory has come. The first way the plant responds to light is a process known as photosynthesis. Your first response to God’s light is photosynthesis, taking God’s light energy and converting it into chemical energy, and sustenance.
The second way plants and trees respond to light is known as Phototropism. In phototropism, a plant bends or grows directionally towards the source of light (see inserted mage). Some of us did this project in biology, where you put a plant beside the window. Do you remember? And as the plant grows, it tilts toward the source of light. How does this apply to you and me? If God calls us trees, we are to turn away from fear, turn away from darkness, and turn away from everything that mocks God.
Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful” (NKJV). Do not ever hang around people who are mocking or abusing God. You do not have time for them. Instead, you tilt towards the Source of light and turn to God. This is what makes the plant so powerful because the sun is up, so they are always looking up. Where you look determines what comes to you.
Prayer: Father, You are my light and my salvation, my fortress always protecting me — so why should I be afraid? I will keep my eyes always on the Lord, in Jesus Name. Amen!
