Your Response, IV

Psalm 34:5 “Look to Him and shine, so shame will never contort your faces.” (Voice)

We will kick off today’s devotional with our final thought from yesterday which is that where you look determines what flows to you. Are you looking at the Source of light or are you looking at social media and what is trending? Are you looking at which celebrity is saying what, or what is going on in the news? Where you look determines what flows to you. Psalm 34:5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” My grandmother, in quoting Psalm 34:5 in Yoruba would say, “Nwọn wò o, imọlẹ si mọ́ wọn: oju kò si tì wọn.”

Everyone who looks to Him, everyone that tilts to the Source, everyone that looks to the light becomes radiant and they will never be put to shame. Your case will not be different. Are you going to tilt to the light or are you going to tilt to something else? Sadly, some people feel this is a good time to throw punches at God. Very foolish. There are all sorts of conspiracy theories out there. Listen, you are going to come out of this in the Name of Jesus, but you must tilt to the Source of light. Plants are wise; for you to survive you must be wise. Plants are wise, they do not argue, they just tilt to the source of light. Your eyes must be on Jesus because He is the Source of life.

Fix your eyes on God, fix your eyes on the Holy Spirit. Tune to the Holy Spirit. Worship, the Holy Spirit is a singing Spirit. Worship turns your eyes towards God. Worship, spend time worshipping God. Turn your eyes to the Word. What is the Word of God saying? We need to hear the Word repeatedly. Download and listen to messages over and over again until something explodes inside you. The Word of God brings life. So, when you focus and tilt towards the Word, it brings life. In fact, in those days, what we have as the Bible today did not exist in this form. They had scrolls, and the Hebrew word for those scrolls where scriptures are written is etz hayim and it means tree of life.

The Word of God is a tree of life – etz hayim. Phototropism, turn to the Word, turn to God. In fact, scientists and experts tell us that there is positive phototropism and there is negative phototropism. There are plants that turn away from the light into darkness. Jesus said He came to His own, His own received Him not. His own had negative phototropism. But you will turn to light. You will have positive phototropism because you are a child of God.

Prayer: Father, I will fix my eyes on You, I will tune in to the Holy Spirit and dwell on the Word continually, in Jesus Name. Amen!
