Leviticus 26:12 “And I will walk in and with and among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people.” (AMPC)
Yesterday, we learnt that there are two implications to God going ahead of you. The first implication is He goes ahead of you As A Force and secondly, He goes ahead of you As A Guide. It is just so beautiful. Many of us would gladly have God go ahead of us As A Force. And praise God He does, and He will, I pray in Jesus Name. Many of us want God to go with us As A Guide. But the truth is God must be your God before He is guaranteed to be your guide. God is too big to be your house-boy, your errand-boy. The way folks address God in prayer sometimes is interesting. Sometimes, it is passion, and that is fine because He is our Father, and He understands. But sometimes people actually think that God is their errand-boy who should go and clear the road ahead of them like a personal bodyguard. No!
God is so awesome and so great. Every time I think about the discoveries man has made with regard to the ocean, it is truly impressive. However, the fact is that only five percent of the ocean has been explored by man. Five percent! They get to a level and run back because of what they can hear but cannot see. And this God is our God forever. Therefore, because of how Great and Mighty God is, we are the ones who are dependent on Him. He does not depend on us. Without Him, we can do nothing. It is in Him we live, move, and have our being. He can exist without us, but we cannot exist without Him. He is God and we are not. Yet, the beauty of it is that He has chosen us, called us, and laid His hands upon us. Amazing!
Do you that the whale is a mammal? A lot of us know this from biology but what does that mean? Whales are part of a family of Aquatic mammals. This means that the whale actually has lungs. Mammals are not fish. Whales just have the physical infrastructure to survive in water. But the whale needs air to survive. It must, of a necessity, come up to breathe and then go back into the ocean. Fish typically suffocate outside of water because their gills are designed to get oxygen from water. Whales drown when for some reason they are not able to come up to get air. They suffocate and die and drop to the bottom of the Sea.
The whale is in the ocean, but the whale knows it is not off the ocean. The whale knows something which you must also learn, which is learn to come up for air or drown. You cannot do without God’s presence. You learn to get into God’s presence so as not to drown.
Prayer (song): This is the air I breathe (x2), Your holy presence living in me. This is my daily bread (x2), Your very Word spoken to me. And I… I’m desperate for You… Amen!
