Refuse To Be Offended I
“And blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is he who takes no offense at Me and finds no cause for stumbling in or through Me and is not hindered from seeing the Truth” Matt.11:6 [AMP]
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Rom.10:17 [NKJV]. Take note, faith comes by hearing and hearing. You will always require faith to walk with God. And the faith you require comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Which is why we always advise that whether you attended the service or not, get the message on CD or in MP3 and listen to the Word over and over. Let it fire up your faith because you’re not going to drown in this pain; you are coming out on top. You will always need faith to walk with God. “The moment God is figured out with nice neat lines and definitions, we are no longer dealing with God”- Rob Bell. There will always be a requirement for you to trust God – always. You will never get to a point where you will have no need to trust God. When He does what you are trusting Him for now and He takes you to a higher level, which He will in Jesus name, you will still need to trust Him. And God is too faithful to fail. “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise” Heb.10:23. Isn’t that comforting? God can be trusted. You may be in a place where you are wondering if you can really, fully trust God or if you can really, totally depend on this ‘Word of God’ like they say. The answer is yes because God can be trusted. Jesus is the one you are searching for.
The second thing you do when what you see is threatening what you have seen, when what you are currently experiencing wants to drown what you have experienced with God, is refuse to be offended. It’s easy to be offended and say “after all I have been paying my tithe, praying, fasting, giving, serving, but…” Refuse to be offended! It’s your choice. You can choose to be offended or refuse to be offended. Jesus says, “And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Matt.11:6 [NKJV]. In other words, blessed is he who even though he is going through a dark place, refuses to be offended. Blessed is he who even though things appear not to be working well still says ‘it doesn’t matter what the people say. It doesn’t matter what my feelings say. Lord, You are so good. You are exalted, You’re the Lord Most High’ [song]. Refuse to be offended. Say to that situation before you, “I refuse to be offended.” Guess what? – the enemy is not targeting your pocket or your income or your marriage. The enemy’s target is your relationship with Jesus; so refuse to be offended.
Prayer: I will remind myself of the things that I’ve heard, I will remind myself of the Word of God and I refuse to be offended because I know my Redeemer lives, in Jesus Name.
