Living Stress Free?

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” Jn.8:12

Have you remembered to thank God for this day and for His kindness? Now and again we can say that this period or that period in our lives has been the most stressful of our year so far. Stress that comes from meeting up with obligations, or attending parties just to show we care or are a part of “who is who” in the society. You do not have to attend every party; it is not written that thou shall attend every party. We have our concerns for our children and for our family. We find ourselves being pulled in different directions and the stress can be enormous. Sometimes we are so stressed, that even though God has made provision for us to eat, we have no appetite for food. We are stressed by the things we have trusted God for at the beginning of the year and appear not to have happened yet. Sometimes the stress kind of shuts us in and makes us not to even show our faces in social gatherings. And it is because people will ask where is your wife? You had told them in the village that you were going to bring a wife this year so how would you show up at the village without a wife. Or you believed God for a husband, or for a child, or for a job and maybe your classmates are having a reunion so you do not want to show up. God has given me a Word to for you this season and I pray that this Word will totally set you free in Jesus Name.

If you study the life of Jesus while He walked the earth, one thing that stands out is Jesus’ life was totally stress free. If there is someone that should be stressed it was Jesus. He was misunderstood, misrepresented, castigated, and abused by the people He loved. He was called names because He ate with people others did not approve of and called a demon for the miracles He performed. Jesus was pressured on every side for His time. He did not even have time for Himself. Everybody wanted to touch Him, everybody wanted prayers, everybody wanted healing, and everybody wanted a breakthrough. So if someone should be stressed it was Jesus. So how did Jesus live stress free? How did Jesus manage to live stress free in the midst of all the chaos around Him and there was a lot of chaos. Sometimes, we look at our circumstances and just wonder, why so many storms? But Jesus was in a boat, the boats in those days were not very stodgy as they are today, and the wind was tossing the boat in every direction. Guess what Jesus was doing? He was sleeping – stress free! Completely stress free! By the grace of God what we will learn from Jesus over the next few days will help us live stress free like Jesus.

Prayer: Father, as I go through this season in Your Presence and by Your Spirit, I decree that stress will be a thing of the past in my life.
