What A Life of Drama!
Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.” “Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.” 1 Sam.16:11
I am excited about what we will be studying over the next few weeks. This is the first time in eight years that I will be led to teach about David. Even though David is one of my favourite characters after Jesus. I am excited because I know that God is going to change our lives with His Word.
If you think that your life has drama then perhaps its time you take a look at the life of David. From the day he was even conceived Read the rest of this entry
Gratitude
‘He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan’ Luke 17:16
Gratitude begins from the heart. Gratitude is incomplete until it is expressed. The way to express gratitude is verbally. The Samaritan leper ran to Jesus – he shouted, he thanked God, and he praised God. Some of us are just too cool. It is good to be cool but you should mind where you are cool. You can be cool in certain areas and it will not be cool anymore. How can you be cool with the Person that delivered you from death? You are in the presence of the Person that knew your end even before you were Read the rest of this entry
Adjust Your Focus
‘One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done…’ Luke17:15-16
Yesterday, I was telling you about the accident the Holy Spirit’s prompting saved me from. Now that happened to be the very first car that I would have, that I bought with my money. So I was kind of grateful to the Holy Spirit but each time I see the dent the trailer left on my car, I will be sorrowful. And I will say, “God, I pay my tithe”. Then it occurred to me, I could have lost my life. The whole car could have been totally written off and here I am complaining about a dent. That was the story of the lepers, they Read the rest of this entry
Spiritual Leprosy
‘Anyone who wants to be my disciple must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me’ John 12:26.
Please read Luke 17:11-18. As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance’ Luke 17:12.There is just so much in this passage of Scripture. The Bible records that the lepers stood at a distance from Jesus because they were leapers. And they shouted because they were leapers. Every spiritual leprosy in your life, I am praying that it will be cleansed and healed today in Jesus name. Everything that keeps you at a distance from Jesus, everything that makes you say afar off from Jesus, everything that Read the rest of this entry
Trust And Obey
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine’ Isa.55:8
God will ask you sometimes to behave as though you already have what you are requesting of Him. It is foolishness but faith is obeying God even though I don’t understand it. Faith is giving even when I don’t have it. God says give this mount, and you say, “Lord, I don’t even have it”. Faith is giving what you don’t have. Faith is persisting when I don’t feel like it. How can a leper go to the priest? But as they obeyed Jesus, as they moved, the Bible says they were healed. I tell people that they don’t have a money Read the rest of this entry
Relationship II
‘He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy’ Luke 17:14.
I was chatting with a young man who had a bad experience with his earthly father. And he was telling me that he cannot relate with God as a Father. Every time he tries to relate with God as a father, he finds that he has resentments. All the issues he has with his earthly father begin to play out in his relationship with God. I had to take him through a whole teaching on God as a father. He was almost crying. God is better than your earthly father. Regardless of whether your earthly father has misbehaved or Read the rest of this entry
Relationship I
‘And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?’ Matt.6:30
On the white board in my office I have a simple equation written – “Jesus plus nothing equals everything”. That statement has set me free. I can go to bed and sleep. We have things to do, bills to pay, I don’t know how this or that is going to happen. But I can go to bed and sleep. And the reason why I am able to do that is – Jesus – He that watches over me does not slumber nor sleep. If your God does not slumber nor sleep, are you going to compete with Him? You can go to bed. Some people can’t sleep; they stay up Read the rest of this entry
Only Jesus
‘Crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” Luke17:13
Now it is important to pay detailed attention to the prayer of these lepers. They said Jesus, Master help us – have mercy upon us. They worshipped as it were. They recognized the person of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven given unto man by which he can be saved. The Word of God says that ‘when you come to the Father, everything you ask in His name, He will hear you’. Jesus is the way, He the truth, and He is the life. These ten lepers were clear about that, they acknowledged it, and they Read the rest of this entry
No Falsehood
‘As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” Luke17:12-13.
Please read Luke 17:11-18. It is an amazing story. Sometimes we read this kind of stories and we say in our heart “what an ungrateful bunch!” “How can anyone treat Jesus like that?” “Don’t they have home training, couldn’t they just have gone back to say thank you to Jesus?” But we need to check our lives, how grateful are we ourselves? The ten lepers saw Jesus coming and they said “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”. That was the beginning of their turning point. I am here to tell you that you are only a Read the rest of this entry
Priority
‘Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me’ 2 Cor.12:8-9.
The victory God wants to win in you is more important than the victory you want God to win for you. It’s not just about the breakthroughs; God wants to do a work in you and I that is more important than any breakthrough you and I can get. Some people want to be healed but they don’t want to be disinfected because they love the bacteria. It does not work that way. Come and be washed in the blood. There is something that God wants to do in you that is more important than what God wants to do for Read the rest of this entry
