Instructive Armor I

When you look at Goliath’s armor [1Sam.17:5-7], Saul’s armor [1Sa.17:38-39], and David’s armor [1Sam.17:40], it is very instructive to us. The value to us is you cannot go against the enemy and defeat the enemy with a weapon that the enemy knows how to use better than you. You cannot use the same tools that the enemy has mastered to defeat the enemy. You simply cannot! Ignore The “Eliabs”

No Repentance, No Restoration!
‘Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you’ Ps.51:12.
The third reason David almost lost that battle is; restoration without repentance will always lead to regret. Absalom was not repentant at all. He still felt slighted that the king would deal with him the way he did. He didn’t see what he had done wrong. “Amnon raped my sister for crying out loud and I killed him. Leadership

A Father’s Love

Beloved Not Bastard
‘…Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all’ Heb.12:7-8.
When God has chosen to favour you, expect a certain level of responsibility. It simply means that what others do and get away with, you cannot do and get away with the same thing. I know Pastors that do certain things and they go away with it but if I try it I’m dead, as in literally dead. Absalom Spirit II
‘For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and punishes each one he accepts as his child’ Heb.12:6
Watch out for the spirit of Absalom. The spirit of Absalom would say, “that is their ruling but if I were the head of that department, my ruling would favour you”. That is an Absalom spirit right there. “If only Pastor will be spiritual enough and make me the department head, you will see how this department will make progress”. There is so much to be learnt from the life of David. It is my prayer that even as we study, we will take note of the sins we need to repent of and the errors to avoid. Merciful Father
