Prisoner Of Time?
“Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died… When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.” John 11:21 & 32.
When our timing does not sync with God’s timing we begin to doubt His reliability. Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus, “the one You love is sick”. But Jesus did not respond based on their timing. Instead He stayed behind even though He loved Lazarus, Jesus did not operate with the timing of Mary and Martha. Jesus eventually Read the rest of this entry
It Is Well
“The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time” Ps.34:19.
A wise man said, when you go through a challenging time, it can do one of three things:
#1. It can destroy you. But I am praying because Jesus is with you, it will not destroy you. Read the rest of this entry
Is He God?
“Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God” Psalm 90:2 [NKJV].
There was never a time when Jesus did not exist and there will never be a time when Jesus won’t exist. It is so important that we understand this because this is really what separates our faith in Christ as believers from every other faith. There is undeniable proof that Jesus lived on earth. A lot of people will not argue with that. They will agree that Jesus came, that He was very wise, and that He was a moral teacher. But where a lot of people stumble and fall, is the thing about God –is He God? It is at this point that you hear people Read the rest of this entry
Lord, Can I?
‘And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue” 1 Sam.30:8 [NIV]
The third thing you do when where you are contradicts where you have been, when what you are seeing is trying to reproach what you have seen in God, when the circumstances around you or your situation are speaking contrary to your experiences, is to ask Him for permission to do the impossible.
Refuse To Be Offended II
‘For I tell you this, you will never see me again until you say, ‘Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Matt.23:39
Job’s wife probably ate with him on the same plate and enjoyed all the wealth with him. But now Job was going through a hard time and this same wife said, “you are still maintaining your integrity before this God? curse God and die” [Job 2:9]. Perhaps so that she can marry somebody else. That’s my thinking because why else would she want him dead? She didn’t say it but why did she want him to die? Probably Read the rest of this entry
Re-Affirm
“Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor” Matt.11:4-5.
Sometimes, our circumstances or the circumstances in which we find ourselves threaten our intimacy. “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?” Matt.11:3. Now think about it, how can John the Baptist ask such a question after all he has seen? How can he ask such a question after all he has been through? Remember, John was six months older than Jesus. John met Jesus first in the womb [Luke 1:41]. So John knew Jesus even by revelation [Mark 1:7]. He didn’t take it for Read the rest of this entry
The Only One!
‘Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11:40 [NIV]
For a lot of us, due to apparent delays, we have begun to ask the same question that John the Baptist asked after he had been in prison for a while. “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” Martha faced similar delays. She had called Jesus to come and heal her brother Lazarus but Jesus delayed. Jesus then shows up after Lazarus had died and Martha says, “Well, Jesus, it’s too late right now to heal my brother”. Prayerful Beginnings I
‘In the beginning… the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.’ Gen.1:1-3 [KJV].
Transition from one year is a very delicate time spiritually. Therefore, even amidst celebrations for all that God has done and is doing for us, because this is also a season for thanksgiving, It is important that we engage prayerfully. Spend the last few hours in this year prayerfully speaking into being what you want to see in the coming year 2015. You need to realize that God can never ever fail. It is wisdom to secure victory ahead because Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. Read the rest of this entry
Under New Management
‘For Scriptures say, “As surely as I live’, says the Lord, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess and give praise to God. Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God’ Rom.14:11-12
Accept that Jesus is God. Believe that Jesus is able to make you all that God has called you to be. Believe that He is able to break every bad thing in your life. Believe that He loves you and that He is in control of your life. Believe totally that He is in control. If a bird in the air cannot fall to the ground without my Father’s permission, my life is not by chance [Luke 12:6-7]. Commit to following Him. Commit to obeying the words from His mouth. Commit to living according to His will and purpose for you. You must commit the rest of your life to following His plan for your life. If you have a problem with Read the rest of this entry
Seed and Bread
‘Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise’ Heb.10:23.
Everyone that walks with God must necessarily go through storms. Even David had to speak to himself and query his heart. ‘Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance’ Ps.42:5 [KJV]. Have you ever come to God and He turned you back because He was too tired? Have you ever placed a demand on heaven and the response came Read the rest of this entry
