His Dust
‘Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person’ Gen.2:7.
From day one God had been creating different fantastic and beautiful things but everything that He created, He spoke it into being. He called forth light, birds, fish, and separated the waters by His words. God had created everything by the spoken word until the sixth day. ‘Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person’ Gen.2:7. Permit me to indulge your imaginative senses a little. The Read the rest of this entry
Will He Find You?
‘But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?’ Luke 18:8
‘All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth’ Heb.11:13. The Bible says that patriarchs died still believing God. In a sense when God came for them, they still believed, they were pleasing to God. Let me ask you a question, if God does not grant that so urgent request when you want, are you still going to believe Read the rest of this entry
Trusting Love
‘I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.’ Ps.27:13 [KJV].
I would have given up or even fainted except I believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I am here to say to you today that no matter how tough it is for you right now, you are going to see the goodness of the Lord, not only in heaven but also in the land of the living. And if you are seeing the goodness of the Lord already, then guess what, you are going to see another level of the goodness of the Lord. The preacher, Rick Warren, puts it this way, “since I know God loves me totally and wants what’s best for me I don’t have to understand every move He makes in my life”. It is when you have totally accepted that God loves you and that He wants the best for you that you will realize you don’t have to understand every move He makes. I am sure you agree that there are some certain things in life that just don’t make sense really? But since I know that God loves me totally and I have accepted the love of God, then I can be at peace amidst storms. If you are reading this today and you have not embraced or totally accepted the love of God, then let that be your starting point. When you accept that God loves you totally and God has got your back completely, guess what-even though you don’t understand everything, you will trust Him. Read the rest of this entry
The Difference
‘A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy’ Luke 18:3
It is most heart breaking that we have a generation who close their eyes, shake their heads, and pray to God for a miracle. And when nothing happens, seemingly, they curse God. A generation that starts to doubt God because they prayed yesterday and God did not answer today. God wants you to know that He’s got your back. He says, when you go through the fire, He will be with you. Sometimes, when God takes me through certain things I say to Him, ‘is this not too much for just one Read the rest of this entry
He’s Able
‘Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?’ Luke 18:7
The future belongs to those who believe with all their heart that God is able to do all that He says He will do. The future belongs to those who believe with every cell in their body that if God says ‘A’, regardless of what they can see, ‘A’ will surely come to pass. The future does not belong to the people that say, seeing is believing. The future belongs to the people that say, if I believe then I will see. You know the story of Abram. Abram means exalted father yet he did not have a child. And Read the rest of this entry
No Excuses
‘The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!”’ Prov.22:13.
One characteristic lazy people have in common is excuses. The lazy person always comes up with genuine and nicely packaged excuses. Think about it, someone says there’s a lion in the street and he doesn’t want to go out. If you advise the person to go out, won’t you look like a bad person? That’s the problem with the lazy man. He pitches his excuse so that when you advise otherwise, you look like a bad person.
Visible Faith
‘Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man. “My child, your sins are forgiven”’ Mark 2:5
In Mark 2:1-12, there were four men who had a friend that was paralyzed and they came to Jesus but Jesus’ house was full. There was no room to walk into Jesus’ house. They could have said ‘perhaps it is not yet God’s time for God to heal our friend. We will wait for when Jesus is doing another healing service and come early so that we can be on the front row’. They did not do that. Instead, as the door was not accessible Read the rest of this entry
Redundant Faith
‘A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power’ Eph.6:10
Are you one of those people who did great works for God in the past but now you are redundant in faith? You could trust God to take you through university and help you graduate but now you cannot trust Him to provide you with a job. Or perhaps you had faith and God healed you of a terminal illness, but now you can’t trust God to heal you of a headache. Then you have allowed your faith to become redundant. The Bible says that it is impossible to please God without faith. Therefore, allowing your faith move into redundancy Read the rest of this entry
Have Faith & Build Faith
‘Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see’ Heb.11:1
As children of God everything we do really rests on faith. You call on the name of Jesus daily because you have faith that His name will bring deliverance to whatever situation you find yourself in. When you sit on a chair, you have faith that it can hold your weight. Similarly as children of God, everything we do from here on till eternity should be based on faith. The only reason you know you are saved is because you have faith. Faith is a shield. It protects you from living only by what you can see and know but trusting in every Read the rest of this entry
Take A Stand
‘But Peter said, I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk! Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up…’ Acts 3:6-7
Never be afraid to draw the line with your God. God honors the word of his servants. He will honor you. In your office, say to them if God is alive this is what is going to happen and watch God honor His Name. While on a project in the northern part of Nigeria, two men approached me. The older was crippled and was being carried by the younger man and they were begging for alms. So I said to them that I know they are Muslims and I respect that but I know someone, His Name is Jesus, if Jesus does not heal him, referring to the Read the rest of this entry
