Lifestyle Of Worship I
“I will praise you seven times a day because all your regulations are just” Ps.119:164
How does worship become a life style? “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer” Acts 2:42 [emphasis added]. From this passage, the first thing is to commit to weekly worship with other Christians. At least in this time and dispensation our worship times are weekly. But the New Testament Read the rest of this entry
Community
“Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other” Rom.12:4-5
The earliest expression of the church is found in the Book of Acts of Apostles in Bible. It is important to know that God’s idea of the church is not a building but rather an Assembly of God’s people. The church is God’s family. So the church is not a building you go but rather it is family you belong to. Looking at the church through God’s lens transforms the concept of ‘I am going to church – I am going to a building’ to ‘I am going to church – I am going home Read the rest of this entry
Access Control VI
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” Rev.3:20
“And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.” Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished” Acts 12:13-16 [NKJV]. You are believing God for something, you have prayed and the answer Read the rest of this entry
Improper Flow
“The woman could see that the tree was beautiful and the fruit looked so good to eat. She also liked the idea that it would make her wise. So she took some of the fruit from the tree and ate it. Her husband was there with her, so she gave him some of the fruit, and he ate it” Gen.3:6 [ERV].
A key thing we must realize about community is we have to maintain proper flow. While we stand one with another, stand one for another, and stand together we have to be in proper flow. So it is improper flow for provision to be flowing from Eve to Adam. It is improper flow for the vision for your children and your family to be flowing from your wife to you. The problem at the garden was Read the rest of this entry
Community
“Two people are better off than one… If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble… A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, …two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better…”Eccl.4:9-10, 12
When the enemy wants to destroy someone or destroy a destiny, the first thing he does is he takes the person out of community. The enemy would make the person get upset at something and then remove him or her from the covering of the people that God has put around him or her. But God is clear in His Word that “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble… A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better…” Eccl.4:9-10 & 12. God is saying you need to realize the power of Read the rest of this entry
Two Are Better!
“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” Heb.4:16 [emphasis added]
The Word of God says Jesus lives forever to make intersession for us. “So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” Heb.4:14 -16 [emphasis added]. Read the rest of this entry
The Godhead
“All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him” Luke 10:22 [KJV]
The Godhead is a Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. To understand God, you must understand and relate with each member of the Trinity. You must understand that even though He is one God, He is three persons [three personalities]. As a believer you must know how to relate with the Father, you must know how to relate with the Read the rest of this entry
Spiritual Warfare
“And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” Gen.3:15 [emphasis added].
I am praying that the enemy will be totally neutralized in your life in the Name of Jesus. And everything he can deploy will not work concerning you in Jesus Name. I want to encourage you to read the whole of Genesis 3 because therein began the issue of spiritual warfare. “Then the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this …I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel” Gen.3:14-15. Read the rest of this entry
Just Follow Jesus
“I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ Himself” Col.2:2.
Our lives flow from Christ. Every other thing will lead to emptiness. Amazingly in the Book of Colossians, Paul talks about the mysteries of God and then says he does not want the church in Colossae to be oblivious of it. He wants the church to be aware of the mysteries of God. Paul says he wants the church, which applies to you and I, to have complete confidence that Read the rest of this entry
Sustained Bloom III
“But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.” Ps.92:12-14
The third key to a sustained bloom is, be planted in God’s house.
You need to take note of the following; firstly, the church is a family. Secondly, God expects you to be a member of church family. And because the church is a family and God expects you to be a member of a church family, therefore a Christian that is not Read the rest of this entry
