Divine Companion
“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me” John 16:32
Divine companionship means I cannot be confused when I have to make tough decisions because God is beside me. If I need to do something I don’t know anything about, all I have to do is watch how Jesus did it and do the same. When people try to harass me, I do not get intimidated because God is behind me. Do you know the Tom and Jerry cartoon? Tom is forever chasing Jerry around the house, up on Read the rest of this entry
Behind And Beside
“So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does” Jn.5:19.
The second aspect of divine companionship is walking behind God. “And He said to them, Come after Me [as disciples letting Me be your Guide] follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men!” Matt.4:19 [AMP]. If Jesus says follow me, what that means is you are walking behind Him. He is going in front and you are following Him. When He moves – you move, when He stops – you stop. Read the rest of this entry
Companionship
“Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3” (NKJV)
As your Pastor, I can pray that God will give you a miracle and when that happens, it is a good gift. But that is not the best gift I can give to you. The best gift I can give to you is to ensure that your connection with God is intact; that you have a clear-cut intact connection with God. The best thing that can happen to you is for Read the rest of this entry
Building An Altar
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service” Rom.12:1 [NKJV].
At his deathbed, my spiritual father said to me, “Your heart is the most important thing, so guard your heart with all your life”. I knew that and I thought to myself, who does not know that? But permit me to reiterate, the most important thing in ministry is your heart. Ministry work is a heart work and you and I are called to be altar builders. If there is any secret in being a successful Christian, or a successful Read the rest of this entry
The Meeting Place
“You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ” 1 Pet.2:5 [KJV]
An altar, in summary, is where God meets with man. In the Old Testament, altars were usually raised surfaces, a collection of stones, or a huge stone raised by the individuals or a group of people when God called for a meeting place. And on that altar, God visits them. Sometimes, it is after God has visited them that they realize that the Presence of God is there and so they raise an altar. An altar is a Read the rest of this entry
He Answers
“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him” John 9:3.
Jesus is The Answer and as The Answer, He was asked a whole lot of questions. I did a little bit of research and I discovered that Jesus was asked about a hundred and ten documented questions. That’s a lot in three years. Thirty-seven out of the one hundred and ten questions were asked by Jesus Himself. Jesus would ask a question and He would answer it Himself. Read the rest of this entry
God Is I AM!
‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me’ Ps.23:4.
The only key to the storms of our lives is securing the Presence of God. To still the storms you are faced with, you have so secure His Presence. In spite of the storm, His presence guarantees safety and deliverance. Safety, they say, is not in the absence of danger; safety is in the Presence of the Lord. Once you can secure His Presence, you will triumph over the storms of life. When you secure God’s presence in the storm, the first storm that God stills is your internal storm. For many of us, the first storm that God needs to still in our lives is the internal storm that we are experiencing. The storm of Read the rest of this entry
For Your Good
‘And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them’ Rom.8:28
‘But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way’ Matt.13:25. The second source of the storms is the enemy. Sometimes it is not about you or what you have done, the storm you are going through is as a result of what the enemy has done. The man in today’s Scripture reference sowed good seed in his land but the enemy came and sowed tares. For some people the storms they are facing are spiritual storms. Some people are under intense attack. The good news for you today is Jesus will deal with every storm that is raging against you. If you were to Read the rest of this entry
Acknowledge II
‘Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture’ Ps.100:3
Some people erroneously think and even claim that they are self-made. They do not acknowledge God because they feel that the money they have they got as a result of their own hard work. They believe that God is for the lazy man who does not want to work hard. We deceive ourselves that it is because we have two degrees or it is because we work very hard that that must be why we are successful. Yes it is good to work hard but you see the Read the rest of this entry
Acknowledge I
‘Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture’ Ps.100:3
Over the next few days we are going to learn from Psalm 100, the keys to being grateful. Who better to learn how to be grateful from than David himself. For the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever and ever. Honoring our parents is one of the things that we strongly advocate in God’s Favourite House. The story is told of a man who always buys his father a very unique father’s day gift. Some of the gifts are quite expensive, others Read the rest of this entry
