His Not Yours, II
John 5:20 “For the Father loves the Son, and tells him everything he is doing; and the Son will do far more awesome miracles than this man’s healing.” (TLB]
John 19:26 “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, “Woman, here is your son.” (NRSV, emphasis added). God commits His most precious things to people that are convinced about His love for them. Read the rest of this entry
His Not Yours, I
John 5:20 “For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing. In fact, the Father will show him how to do even greater works than healing this man. Then you will truly be astonished.” (emphasis added).
In today’s anchor scripture, we see Jesus boast in His Father’s love for Him and that is big. “The Father loves the Son…”, just like a boy on the playground says, ‘my daddy loves me’. God’s love for you is more important than your love for God. Read the rest of this entry
The Son!
John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life” (emphasis added).
Jesus says, “those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins…” It is not that these people do not have sins, but Jesus says they will never be condemned for their sins. Read the rest of this entry
Yes And No
Gen.37:10 “This time he told the dream to his father as well as to his brothers, but his father scolded him. “What kind of dream is that?” he asked. “Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow to the ground before you?”
Over the past few days, we have learned that Mary was an executionist and she had power with God. Mary used her power with God to change and influence things for others. We have seen from the example of Mary that when you have power with God, you can change things. Read the rest of this entry
Like Mary
John 2:3-5 “The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Mary was an executionist. Yesterday we said there are four types of people around us and we are also one of these four. The pessimist, the optimist, the analyst, and the executionist. God wants us to be executionists, people that step up and get things done despite the prevailing negativity. Read the rest of this entry
Personified
John 1:14 “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.”
Please read John 1:47-49 “As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.” “How do you know about me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.” Then Nathanael exclaimed, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel!” Read the rest of this entry
Come And See
Ps. 66:5-6 “Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him.”
Please read John 1:43-51. John 4:28-29 “The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry
Good News
John 1:41-42 “Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means “Christ”). Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus…” (emphasis added).
Yesterday, I shared with you how after I got saved, I could not keep Jesus to myself. Andrew went looking for his brother, Simon, and told him, so did I. Guess what? Today, my brother is a Pastor and he is pastoring a great church. You never know what God is going to do with that your relative. Read the rest of this entry
