God Is Not Surprised
‘Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.’ Mark 6:34.
It is important to note that it was not when the disciples encountered a problem that Jesus began to look for a solution. ‘But Jesus said, “You feed them’. Another version of this same scripture says Jesus said this to test them. It is important for us as Christians to know that it is not when we are faced with a challenge that God starts to think about a solution. In fact the challenges that you and I are facing today are not taking God unawares. God is not surprised. The truth is that God already has the solution even before we encounter Read the rest of this entry
Walk In The Light That You Have
‘But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it’ James 1:25.
To live free, the third thing we must do is walk in the light that we have. Our challenge as believers and the church really is that we are far more educated than the level of our obedience. We know more than we do. If we do as much as we know, our lives will be totally transformed. In fact I challenge you to do 60% of what you know of God and you will not recognize yourself again. You will be so powerful, so anointed, that when you enter a place, demons will shout and run. And you are just doing 60%. I am not saying you should Read the rest of this entry
God Has A Will
‘For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life’ John 3:16
A young lady was praying for a job and by God’s grace she was give two to choose from. One of course had much better perks than the other – better pay, courses outside the country and much more. So she sort God on which option was best because He alone knows the end from the beginning. And the leading she got was to take the less paying job. It was a struggle for her but she obeyed God and on the long term she is better of for it today 10years down the line. If she had taken the other job she probably would have gone off on another Read the rest of this entry
Dominion
‘And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion… over every living thing that moveth upon the earth’ Gen. 1:28[KJV].
Every promotion from God attracts a new level of battle or opposition from the enemy camp. Every promotion requires a new level of responsibility and dedication. This is why God will not just land a blessing on you without growing you and preparing you for the battle or responsibility that might come as a result of that blessing. One of the mistakes some Christians make is that they assume that they do Read the rest of this entry
Will You Play The Fool?
‘And he changed his behavior before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard’ 1 Sam.21:13
David in a bid to escape Saul found himself in danger of loosing his life before Abimelech and he demonstrated hallelujah and got free. Hallelujah means to change behavior suddenly, it means to feign madness. [Read 1 Sam.21:10-15]. It was after this that David wrote Psalm 34. The summary before Psalm 34 reads ‘A psalm of David, regarding the time he pretended to be insane in front of Abimelech, who sent him away’. ‘I will bless [barak] the Lord at all times: his praise [tehillah] shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast [halal] in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad’ Ps.34:1-2 [KJV]. A while back, a friend of mine had Read the rest of this entry
Nurturing II
‘For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him’ John 17:2
When all the comfort the eaglets originally found in the nest is gone, they have no choice but to climb on the outstretched wing of the parent. The eagle will then fly them high and just when they are enjoying the ride, the eagle will suddenly close its wings and allow its eaglets tumble downwards. Then it swoops down and picks them up just before they hit the ground. It takes them up again and repeats the same process until the eaglets find the use of their wings and begin to fly. For the eaglet the process might be horrible yet the eagle is nurturing it.
Isn’t this how God deals with us sometimes. It is almost as if He is taking us high and we are enjoying the ride then all of a sudden He drops us. Or first reaction is ‘don’t You care that we perish?’ When it appears as though we are about to hit the ground, God always picks us up on time. Then we experience another drop. If this is what you are going through then pay attention because God is saying ‘stretch out your wings yourself and begin to fly’. If you don’t, He will pick you up but you will repeat the process because He loves you too much to leave you incapacitated. He is saying to you stretch out your wings, get up and deal with the demon yourself.
There were times my wife will say to me we need to deal with something. We pray together and God sorts it out. Sometimes I say ‘I cannot rescue you all the time you go and sort it out’. Then I watch. There was this particular time something happened to my wife. I saw it and she saw it too but she said to me ‘leave me, I am going to sort this out’. She went alone by herself to pray and by morning it was sorted. She learnt to use her own wings. Many of us are raising children that can’t stand by themselves, children who cannot look people in the eye and have a normal conversation. We are raising people who are dependent on us. God is not interested in that. There are a lot of Pastors whose flock cannot hear God outside of them. God is not interested in that. God wants everybody to stretch forth his or her own wings and fly.
Prayer: Father, forgive me for the times I have resisted You during the nurturing process. I declare that henceforth I will stretch out my own wings and fly, in Jesus Name.
Nurturing I
‘During my time here, I protected them by the power of the name you gave me. I guarded them so that not one was lost…’ John 17:12
As ferocious as the eagle is yet no member of the bird family is more gentle and attentive to its young than the eagle. As fierce as the eagle is the eagle nurtures its own children. How does this apply to us? God expects us to nurture our biological and spiritual children with the same tenderness the eagle displays. Read the rest of this entry
Swiftness
‘…the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and [wind] happeneth to them all’ Ecc.9:11 [KJV].
The eagle is swift. It flies faster than most birds, if not all birds. It flies as fast as 217km per hour. People who have been in fast moving cars can relate to how fast this is. In fact by the time your car is going 200 -210 you will advise yourself to slow down because your heart cannot take it. Yet the eagle flies Read the rest of this entry
Longevity
‘With long life will I satisfy you and show you My salvation’ Psa. 91:16
The fourth secret of the eagle is longevity. Eagles outlive most animals and birds. Eagles can live up to a hundred and twenty years. They outlive a lot of men also. As eagle believers God is saying to you and I, ‘you will fulfill the number of your days’ in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Jesus fulfilled the number Read the rest of this entry
Unusual Strength
‘…they that know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploits’ Dan.11:32.
‘They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles’. The eagles have unusual strength. We as Christians have to be strong just like the eagle. One sure way of getting unusual strength comes from waiting on the Lord. It is only God who knows what lies ahead of you and Read the rest of this entry
