Prayer

‘And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne’ And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand’ Rev.8:4 [KJV].

God perceives our prayers as incense before Him. Erroneously some people think that means we should burn incense before God. Not at all! Your prayers ascend to God as a sweet smelling savor of incense before the throne of God and that is what the altar of incense represents. Over the next few days we will be looking at prayer and learning how to pray from none other than Jesus Himself. Read the rest of this entry

By Significance II

“Who do you think you are,
and what are you doing here,
building a beautiful tomb for yourself -
a monument high up in the rock? For the Lord is about to hurl you away, mighty man. He is going to grab you’ Isa.22:16-17.

While some people leave significant legacies, other people leave non-significant legacies. The people who leave non-significant legacies are so consumed with building structures and monuments. It is an insignificant legacy because someone else can just demolish it and we have seen this happen time and again. Saddam Hussein put up a monument and that monument was pulled down. People even try to embalm their Hero’s as a legacy. Sadly a lot of people are Read the rest of this entry

Legacy

‘I will confirm him as king over my house and my kingdom for all time, and his throne will be secure forever.’” 1Chr.17:14

When talking about Legacy, what we are actually referring to is that thing you will be remembered for from generation to generation. For some people the only legacy they have is their tombstone. I urge you today to think about it, when you are gone [not if but when], what will you be remembered for. When you go will people say, “Praise God”? The Bible says about Dorcas that when she died the widows gave Peter no rest. This woman must not die. Will people say something Read the rest of this entry

Instructive Armor II

‘He picked up five smooth stones from a stream and put them into his shepherd’s bag. Then, armed only with his shepherd’s staff and sling, he started across the valley to fight the philistine’ 1Sam.17:40

You cannot use Saul’s armor. You need to use the surest thing in the world. The Bible says that (‘the meek and the quiet spirit’), the beauty that is from the inside is what a godly woman is. You do not become great by being a copycat – copying the Saul’s. You become great by deploying your own uniqueness. If you look at that battle, David remained simple and agile. If you are running a business or you are a professional, whatever you are doing, remain simple and agile. Goliath’s Read the rest of this entry

Waiting Time I

For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done”. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands’ Neh.6:9 [NKJV].

Yesterday we established the fact that waiting time is not wasted time. Today we will delve into the four “P’s” of waiting; these will help you maximize waiting time.

Waiting time is not wasted time, waiting time is Pondering time. It is the time to soak yourself in the vision Read the rest of this entry

God Sized

I will climb up to my watchtower
and stand at my guard post. There I will wait to see what the Lord says
and how he will answer my complaintHab. 2:1.

Firstly, to receive a dream, go to the balcony. When we were growing up, the balcony was where my father would lounge and read his newspaper in the cool of the evening breeze. To you and I, the balcony is a picture of relaxation; a place where you are relaxed and in tune with God. It is a place where you go to get an idea from heaven. ‘I will climb up to my watchtower
and stand at my guard post.
There I will wait to see what the Lord says
and how he will answer my complaintHab. 2:1. Habakkuk said, ‘I will set my watch’, meaning I will go Read the rest of this entry

Will He Find You?

‘But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?’ Luke 18:8

‘All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth’ Heb.11:13. The Bible says that patriarchs died still believing God. In a sense when God came for them, they still believed, they were pleasing to God. Let me ask you a question, if God does not grant that so urgent request when you want, are you still going to believe Read the rest of this entry

Time To Rejoice

The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’ Luke 18:4-5.

The fourth thing we learn from Luke 18:1-8 is the Judge has the final say. For some of us we have been laboring under a heavy yoke of certain pronouncements that were made over us. The Good News for you today is that the Judge has the final say over your life. Your colleague does not have the final say. Your boss does not have the final say. Even your parents do not have the final say. Jesus has the final say. The Father has the final say. So what is it you have been told will never happen? Read the rest of this entry

Fair Hearing

Come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most’ Heb.4:16.

The third thing we learn from Luke 18:1-8 is, the fact that you are right does not automatically win the case for you. So what does? The lawyers call it advocacy. The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’ Luke 18:4-5. Even though she was right, she did not get justice until she wore the judge out Read the rest of this entry

Persist Still

‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death’ Rev.12:11 [KJV].

‘When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came’ Luke 4:13. Don’t think that because Jesus has empowered you then satan will fear you. Don’t think that because you are anointed then satan will back down from attacking you. He will not; but you will defeat him. Although your victory will not stop him from coming back but you shall be consistently victorious in Jesus Name. Even with Jesus, the Bible says he left Jesus for a season. Read the rest of this entry
