Companionship
“Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3” (NKJV)
As your Pastor, I can pray that God will give you a miracle and when that happens, it is a good gift. But that is not the best gift I can give to you. The best gift I can give to you is to ensure that your connection with God is intact; that you have a clear-cut intact connection with God. The best thing that can happen to you is for Read the rest of this entry
First Things First!
“Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord…” Ps. 24:3-5 [NKJV].
There are things that we do in our lives privately that rob us of God’s glory publicly. It is not when we stand in public that the problem comes. No, the problem came when we robbed God privately. The problem started when we did not regard the Most High at that place of the altar. It is noteworthy that Joab ran Read the rest of this entry
Die To Self II
“Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too” Phil.2:3-4.
Habits could be destructive or totally harmless; but is your habit something that has taken the place of God, howbeit harmless? Question 2: is there something that God wants me to start doing? At the place of the altar, God is going to challenge your spirituality. Take for instance; you have been praying for two Read the rest of this entry
Key To Identity II
“The people of Reuben and Gad named the altar “Witness,” for they said, “It is a witness between us and them that the Lord is our God, too.” Josh.22:34
People will regard you differently because you draw your identity from God Himself. You do not strive. Take note, the people that know God do not strive. They do not politic, they do not backbite, and they do not think they have to pull down anyone so they can get ahead. The people that know God, the scripture says, Read the rest of this entry
Get In-Line
“Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him, “From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.” Gen.32:28
A wise man said, “You cannot change your destination overnight but you can change your direction overnight”. Some of us reading this today have been going in the wrong direction. For some it is bad habits that have sent them down a wrong path. So you go to God at His meeting place, the altar, and pray; and guess what? You are actually realigned but you wake up the next day and it seems you are Read the rest of this entry
Shake Off, Step Up!
“Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks for forgiveness, you must forgive”” Luke 17:4
“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “But seventy times seven!” Matt.18:21-22. Yes, even the disciples had to deal with this. So Just like Jesus, I am saying forgive again. Remember the story from yesterday? The person actually solved the issue. The person said, when Read the rest of this entry
Love and Like
“I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you…” John. 15:15-16.
“Now you are my friends”; you cannot be a friend of somebody you do not like. What creates friendship is the likeness. God does not need us but He likes us and that is simply amazing. The funny thing is that even though we need God, we do not always want Him. He does not need us yet He wants us. But even though we need Him Read the rest of this entry
Huge Difference
“What are mere mortals that you should think about them. human beings that you should care for them?” Ps. 8:4
Many people are around you today because they need you and not because they like you or want you. They are just there because they need you to do ‘xyz’ or give them ‘abc’ and that’s all. They need you to give them money, or connect them to someone. When they don’t need you anymore, what happens? In my few years of Pastoral Read the rest of this entry
Dangerous Logic
“The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!” But Elisha replied, “You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it!” 2 Kings 7:2
The third thing that makes us doubt the reliability of Jesus is our logic. Please read John 20:24-30. This is the story of Thomas. Thomas was not present when the resurrected Christ showed Himself to His disciples. When he returned, Jesus had left. “They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side” John 20:25. Close Watch
“You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do” Ps.139:2-3.
What do the people closest to you feel? Do they feel an overwhelming awareness of your love or do they feel an overwhelming awareness of your criticism? If you are married, the closest person to you is your spouse. So how does your spouse really feel around you? Does he or she have an overwhelming awareness that you love him or Read the rest of this entry
