Off Key

And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailedGen. 32:38

Jacob was detuned from birth by his name. The name Jacob meant crook. Imagine giving a child such a name. Imagine at his naming ceremony when his mother was asked, “what shall this child be called?” And she answered, “Crook; he shall be called crook”. That was what Jacob’s name literally meant, supplanter. The name Jacob put him out of tune with his destiny from birth and God had to retune him. “…Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel…Gen. 32:38. The name Israel means prince of Read the rest of this entry

Re-Tune

“What’s more, I am changing your name. It will no longer be Abram. Instead, you will be called Abraham, for you will be the father of many nations” Gen.17:5

God’s instruction for us in this season is Re-Tune. To tune is to put into proper pitch. The purpose of tuning any instrument is to put it in proper pitch. To tune is also to adjust to a desired frequency. If you are tuning a radio, you are adjusting it to a desired frequency. To re-tune therefore means to put into proper pitch again. To re-tune means to readjust into a desired frequency.

Repentance

“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.  Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord…” Acts 3:19-20 [emphasis added]

You will defeat your enemies in Jesus Name. But there are some things you need to remove from your life for that to happen. One of the greatest lies that has hit the church today is, once you are saved you do not really need to repent. There is nothing more you can do because Jesus has done it all. It is one big, twisted lie. Do not buy the lie. Repentance always comes before refreshing. Until you remove these things from among you, says the Lord, you will not be able to stand. U-Turn!

“Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven has come” Matt.3:2

Do you want to see the miraculous happen in your life? Do you really want to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the supernatural? If you sincerely desire it from your heart, then I pray that it will be so in Jesus Name. The key is, stepping out in faith and representing the Kingdom. There are people in your life right now that need the power of God to touch them. Guess what? God is waiting for you. “Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here. Bring health to the sick. Raise the dead. Touch the untouchables. Kick out the demons…” Matt.10:7&8 [MSG]. Who should give health to the sick and raise the dead? You! Why? A Read the rest of this entry

Selfie!

“Philip said, ‘Lord show us the Father…’ Jesus answered, ‘Don’t you know me, Philip? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” John 14:8-9

The quest for God has been on for a while. “Philip said, ‘Lord show us the Father…’ Jesus answered, ‘Don’t you know me, Philip? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” So if you want to know the Father, look at Jesus. And this is love that God is a Person and not a power. A lot of us can relate to God as a power, some force that can do stuff. God has power but God is a person. And that is so Read the rest of this entry

Reconciled!

“Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault” Col.1:22

The Word of God is just amazing and so powerful. My advice to you today is spend time reading it daily. However, there may be someone reading today’s devotional but is still feeling confused about his or her stand with God. God has a Word for you through the Book of Colossians. Are you ready? Favour isn’t Fair

“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you” Luke 15:17-18.

Jesus was walking down the road, a whole lot of people were following Him and He got to a place looked up and said, “Zaccheus, today I’m going to eat lunch in your house”. Excuse me! What about those of us who have been following you for ten hours? Is that fair? Zaccheus, a sinner – it is not fair. A young rich man came to Read the rest of this entry

Healing Word

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light’ Matt.11:28-30 [KJV].

Today, God’s Word for you is ‘Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your soulsFor my yoke is easy, and my burden is light’ Matt.11:28-30 [KJV]. Jesus the Son of the Living God is saying come and He will give you rest. Those of us that need to have children or more children, I see you Read the rest of this entry

Unto Thyself Be True III

‘Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight.
You will be proved right in what you say,
and your judgment against me is just’ Ps.51:4.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God’ Eph.2:8 [KJV]. Faith is an action word; faith is not passive believing. Repentance is faith that gives you access to the grace that saves you. Without repentance, you cannot access the grace that can save, even though Jesus has paid for it. If I could survive six years without fornicating, you can do it too. God that Read the rest of this entry

Unto Thyself Be True II

‘Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
The God of my salvation,
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness’ Ps.51:14 [NIV].

Secondly, true repentance comes clean. ‘Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves;
then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness’ Ps.51:14. David was specific about what he was repenting for. People come to God to confess their sins and they say, “O Lord, You know I’ve been a bad boy/girl, forgive me of all my sins”. And they want to move on meanwhile God is saying, “I am ready to forgive you but which Read the rest of this entry
