Relationship II
‘He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy’ Luke 17:14.
I was chatting with a young man who had a bad experience with his earthly father. And he was telling me that he cannot relate with God as a Father. Every time he tries to relate with God as a father, he finds that he has resentments. All the issues he has with his earthly father begin to play out in his relationship with God. I had to take him through a whole teaching on God as a father. He was almost crying. God is better than your earthly father. Regardless of whether your earthly father has misbehaved or Read the rest of this entry
God’s How
‘So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them’ Ex.15:25 [KJV]
You and I need to stop worrying ourselves about how God will bring things to pass. God will do what only Him can do. So you do what you have to do and let God be God. Now by the grace of God when God sends a word of knowledge, I just say it and watch God bring it to pass. It was not always like that, back in the day I would say it but then struggle to stop my brain from trying to figure out how God is going to do it because guess what Read the rest of this entry
It’s Not About You!
“Didn’t I say …that you would do this, Lord? …You are eager to turn back from destroying people. Just kill me now, Lord! I’d rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen.” The Lord replied, “Is it right for you to be angry about this?” Jonah 4:2-4
It really is not about you or me but about God and what He is doing. For some of us, this is all we need to hear today. After God delivered me and taught me this lesson, I could pray and people that were dying would come back to life and it didn’t mean anything to me. You know why it didn’t mean anything to me? I knew it wasn’t because of my prayers. I just did what I had to do and God did what He had to do. If you don’t understand this Read the rest of this entry
His Responsibility Not Yours
“Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land” Ex.14:21.
Back in the day, while I’m praying for someone that is sick, I try to figure out how the person will get healed. So I am praying but in my head I am thinking, ‘as I lay my hands on this person, maybe the anointing from heaven will land on my head, and then flow through my hand into the person’. But God delivered me from that long ago. People discover now that when I pray for someone to be healed it’s not a very long prayer. The Bible Read the rest of this entry
Have Faith & Build Faith
‘Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see’ Heb.11:1
As children of God everything we do really rests on faith. You call on the name of Jesus daily because you have faith that His name will bring deliverance to whatever situation you find yourself in. When you sit on a chair, you have faith that it can hold your weight. Similarly as children of God, everything we do from here on till eternity should be based on faith. The only reason you know you are saved is because you have faith. Faith is a shield. It protects you from living only by what you can see and know but trusting in every Read the rest of this entry
Are You Offended?
‘My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your majesty’ Dan.6:22
For some of us the very thing that is off setting our vertical peace is an offence in our hearts. You are offended at God and you are fighting with God because by your own estimation God should have done better. For example, a lady said ‘God if I were you, I would have sorted out this problem. What is all this delay? God if it were You asking me to do this, I would have done it for You. If You were the one begging me, I would have answered you’. God likes Read the rest of this entry
Not Without Patience
‘Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised’ Heb.6:15.
Abraham is known as the father of faith. You cannot teach faith without patience. To teach faith without patience is to set people up for a life of disappointments and that is not what the Word of God teaches. The Word of God says Abraham, after releasing his faith, he was patient enough to obtain the promise. I am praying that you will be patient enough to obtain your promise in the mighty Name of Jesus. So if your name is patience, for instance, how Read the rest of this entry
You Are A Child?
‘So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him’ Matt.7:11
There is an English proverb that says the patient dog eats the fattest bone. But this generation says – no way! The patient dog will starve to death. That is what this generation interprets this proverb to mean. Yet with God the patient dog still eats the fattest bone but even beyond that you are not a dog! You are a child of God. So if your Father says I have a land for you, be patient! Do you trust Him enough to be patient? Or would you manufacture Read the rest of this entry
Will You Wait?
‘Blessed (happy, blithesome, joyous, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth!’ Matt.5:5 [AMP]
The meek is patient, mild, and long-suffering. When your spouse aggravates you, because our spouses are sometimes anointed to aggravate us, do you want to shred them or are you mild? God says blessed are the meek, blessed are the mild, for they will inherit the land. Some time ago, a friend of mine got news that his wife had done something that was not so pleasing to him. So he had made up his mind and the plan was to go and give his wife a Read the rest of this entry
Why?
‘Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come’ Isa.57:1.
A lot of us are consistently weighed down by the thought ‘why do bad things happen to good people?’ Particularly when a lot of intercession has gone into averting the bad thing, for instance the death of a loved one. For starters I would say you need to read Psalm 73, it will help you understand why bad things happen to good people sometimes. Secondly, there are some things we will never get answers to on this side of eternity. Some situations we will never Read the rest of this entry
