Truth vs. Error
2 Tim.3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right”
Over the next few days, we will be learning how to go forward from the story in Ezra 3 [please read]. A couple of things led to this and we will learn a few lessons from history. After David died, Solomon became king but he did a lot of not so good things. But God was faithful and Israel broke up into two kingdoms after the death of Solomon – the northern and the southern kingdoms. Jerusalem was in the southern kingdom. The northern kingdom was given to idol worship and the Assyrians captured it. Prophets Micah and Isaiah Read the rest of this entry
Proof
John 10:3-4 “…the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice”
It is so important for you to hear God for yourself. If you cannot hear God for yourself, people will attempt to lead you in their own direction. My advice is, go into your closet and pray. Ask your Father in heaven and He will speak to you about His heart for you. God is not an author of confusion. Read the rest of this entry
True Worth
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” Eph.2:8-9 [emphasis added]
Many of us are quick to think that Jesus came to make good people better. And while we would admit that we are not where God wants us to be, but in our hearts we believe we are good. And we believe that it is because of that little goodness that Jesus came to help us to be better. I am sorry but that is not why Jesus came. Some believe that they are a little bad so they need Jesus to Read the rest of this entry
Key Thoughts V
“If you want to be My disciple, you must hate everyone else by comparison—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters… your own life… So you cannot become My disciple without giving up everything you own. Luke 14:26 & 33 [emphasis added]
Please read Luke 14:25-33. In this portion of Scripture, even though we can take the lesson and apply it to the economy, Jesus was addressing deeper things. He was talking about spiritual economy. He is talking about our lives. If you want to be His disciple, if you want Him to own you, if you want Him to economize you, if Read the rest of this entry
Unpopular
“About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to visit him. He gave the king this message: “This is what the Lord says: Set your affairs in order, for you are going to die. You will not recover from this illness.” 2 Kings 20:1
Over the next few days we will be learning from the life of Hezekiah. Please read 2kings20:1-6. I pray that everyone that has good news for you but is going in the wrong direction, God will send them back in Jesus Name. In those days, when a prophet comes into a town, people start trembling. Why? It is because they do not know what he is going to say. A prophet, Read the rest of this entry
Your Part
“But the man of God was angry with him. “You should have struck the ground five or six times!” he exclaimed. “Then you would have beaten Syria until it was entirely destroyed. Now you will be victorious only three times.” Then Elisha died and was buried” 2 Kings 13:19-20
The second thing that bothered me when I read the story in 2Kings 13:14-20 is our scripture reference for today. Scripture says, “Then Elisha died and was buried” 2 Kings 13:20. Meaning the king did not have an opportunity to appeal. The king did not get the chance to say I did not understand what you were saying, give me a second chance. After all Prophet Read the rest of this entry
Heart Affairs I
“… and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark… and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” Rev.20:4
Do not be afraid of fire! As a Pastor, a couple of times people have to said to me ‘do not worry about this Jesus we will give you money’. Money for Jesus, is that not a foolish choice? Very foolish! I am not afraid to go through the fire because when I go through the fire there is a higher revelation of the Person of Jesus that I see. And I experience the companion in the fiery furnace – Jesus Christ of Read the rest of this entry
Who Are You?
“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” Prov. 11:24-25 [KJV]
The church is the Assembly of God’s people, the body of Christ. But many people have different ideas on what the church should be or what the church should do. And gradually, over the years the people in the church have become increasingly selfish and we make it all about them. People are quick to ask, “How can the church meet my needs?” “What about me?” “What about my convenience?” At the end of the day, Read the rest of this entry
God Alone!
“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God” James 4:4.
What guarantees victory over satan is the Word, the Blood of Jesus, and not fearing death. Do you know why islamic militancy appears to be gaining a lot of grounds and terrorizing everybody so far on earth? Firstly, it is because the enemy copies the truth and perverses it. And secondly, it is because they are not afraid to die. The moment you have a leader that is not Read the rest of this entry
Another Dimension
“About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water” Matt.14:25 [emphasis added]
Please read Matthew 14:22-33. “Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home” Matt.14:22 . It is interesting that when they had a party because they practically had a party when Jesus fed five thousand men not counting women and children. Everybody ate and there must have been a lot to Read the rest of this entry
