By Example

“It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith” Heb.11:4

I have been in church long enough to know that this issue of faith can be so abstract. Sometimes you even get afraid that maybe you do not have faith or the required amount of faith. Does that happen to you? It is as though everyone else has faith but you. Some people have made it their duty to be the barometer of faith. They tell you, you have hope and not faith, and they have faith. My response to such people is this your faith what has it done for you? Show me Read the rest of this entry

Wholly Secure

Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” James 2:18

Faith is so important that if you are to fulfill your destiny in God it is going to be by faith. Everything that God has for you, your spouse, your children, and your future; if they are going to come to pass it is going to be by faith. There is so much attack on people’s faith. These attacks started long ago and are still on even till now. If there is anything the enemy wants it is your faith.

By Faith

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” Heb.11:6

The Bible is a Book of faith and for the next few days we will be learning from the portion we can call the passage of faith because it is most dedicated to faith. Please read and study Hebrews 11:1-40. The Lord bless you with understanding as you read His Word.

Inspite Of The Pain

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow” James 1:2-3

Honestly, when I am facing challenges except I remember this Scripture I naturally do not count it as joy. I typically would pray, “Lord, what is going on here? Help me”. But Paul is challenging us to our core that you can be in pain and you can be on purpose. You can be waiting for a promise and you can still be fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. For a lot of us, Read the rest of this entry

Eternal Affairs

“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone” Col.4:5-6 [emphasis added]

And say to Archippus, “Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave youCol.4:7 [emphasis added]. For a lot of us when we see such scriptures we believe that God is speaking only to Pastors. That is far from the truth because we all have a ministry given to us by God. Everybody has a ministry. If you are a business man that is a ministry God has given you. If Read the rest of this entry

Domestic Affairs VI

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly. Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord.  Fathers, do not aggravate your children…” Col.3:18-21

God is saying to us this is how to live. However, you always have a choice with the Word of God. The Word of God is true and infallible but you always have a choice. You can either align or be out of line with the Word of God. When you align with the Word of God your marriage becomes awesome. When you align with the Word of God in choosing your marriage becomes Read the rest of this entry

Domestic Affairs V

“Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged” Col.3:20-21

How often should children obey their parents? Always obey your parent for this pleases the Lord. So children should always obey their parents for it is pleasing unto the Lord. Just obey! However, where is the boundary in this? The boundary in this is simple, in our culture it is not uncommon to hear a mother speaking to a married man and telling the married man this is what you do Read the rest of this entry

Domestic Affairs IV

“Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” Col.3:19

“Husbands, love your wives [be affectionate and sympathetic with them] and do not be harsh or bitter or resentful toward them” Col.3:19 [AMP, emphasis added]. A man goes out of his way trying to be nice and tries to buy his wife a gift. But the first thing the wife says is how much did you buy it? The man is not sure where this is going but he responds fifteen Read the rest of this entry

Domestic Affairs III

“Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” Col.3:19

“Husbands, love your wives [be affectionate and sympathetic with them] and do not be harsh or bitter or resentful toward them” Col.3:19 [AMP, emphasis added]. That word affectionate there means to be romantic. Men, God is saying be romantic, it is in the Bible. Chivalry should not die, be romantic. Some gentleman came to me and said he had been Read the rest of this entry

Domestic Affairs II

“Wives, be subject to your husbands [subordinate and adapt yourselves to them], as is right and fitting and your proper duty in the Lord” Col.3:18 [AMP, emphasis added]

Wives, God is saying adapt! You already have planned out how you want your life to run, and then you hook up with this man. God is saying rearrange your life around him. I mean that is so unfair, by our twenty first century equal right movement. But that is what the Word of God says, you adapt to your husband. When my wife and I first got married I discovered that Read the rest of this entry
