Justification
Acts 16:25-26 “Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and… Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”
Today, we will start with Matthew 13:25 “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way” (KJV). When men sleep, a lot of things happen. That is why you have to secure your space, your home, your sphere of influence so that when you are sleeping, Read the rest of this entry
Watch Night
1 Kings 3:20 “And she arose at MIDNIGHT, and took my son from beside me, while your handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.” (KJV, emphasis added)
At midnight prayer is the place where the willingness to do what is required irrespective of how you feel, where the power can come from God in response to your prayer, and where you can push things in the invisible spiritual to bring it to pass in the physical, visible physical. At Midnight
Ex. 12:29 “And that night at midnight, the Lord struck down all the firstborn sons in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sat on his throne, to the firstborn son of the prisoner in the dungeon. Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed.”
Our first lesson from Elijah regarding opening heavens is the willingness to do what is required, irrespective of the excuses not to. Our second lesson is Elijah’s power came from God in response to Elijah’s prayer. Our third lesson is everything that is visible and physical, Read the rest of this entry
Call & Response
Isaiah 62:6-7 “I’ve posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem. Day and night they keep at it, praying, calling out, reminding God to remember. They are to give him no peace until he does what he said, until he makes Jerusalem famous as the City of Praise.” (MSG)
Our first lesson from Elijah regarding opening up heavens is the willingness to do what is required, irrespective of the excuses not to. Our second lesson is Elijah’s power came from God in response to Elijah’s prayer. Yes, you need to pray earnestly and do what is required. Read the rest of this entry
Ready. Set. Pray.
1 Kings 18:36-37 “…Elijah …prayed, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command. O Lord, answer me! …so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God…”
Elijah’s first prayer was not recorded, it was only the second prayer that was recorded. But James 5 tells us how he prayed the first prayer and 1Kings 18 showed us how he prayed the second prayer. So, if you combine the two, we can see how he prayed both prayers. Read the rest of this entry
Passionate Plea
Psalm 103:7 “He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.” (KJV)
The Voice Translation of the same scripture reads, “He showed Moses His ways; He allowed His people Israel to see His wonders and acts of power.” The children of Israel just saw God’s acts and saw the miracles, but they did not know how it came. Read the rest of this entry
Take A Stand
James 5:17-18 “Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.”
Up until this point of his introduction, Elijah was an unknown prophet until in 1 Kings 17:1 “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.” (KJV). Stay Sharp
Matt.25:2–4 “Five of them were foolish and ill-prepared, for they took no extra oil for their lamps. Five of them were wise, for they took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.” (TPT)
Matt.25:6-9 “Then suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by the shout ‘Get up! The bridegroom is here! Come out and have an encounter with him!’ So all the girls got up and trimmed their lamps. But the foolish ones were running out of oil, so they said to the five wise ones, ‘Share your oil with us, because our lamps are going out!’ ‘We can’t,’ they replied. ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. You’ll have to go and buy some for yourselves!'” Read the rest of this entry
Hurry Home
Isa.54:2-3 “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left…” (KJV).
God differentiates between men and women; do you know that? There are things God can tell a man, but He cannot tell a woman. I know, I know, I know this is the twenty-first century, what a man can do, a woman can do better. Read the rest of this entry
Timing
John 9:4 “We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.”
The King James Version of the same John 9:4 reads, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” There is an urgency in reaching people for God and in reaching souls for Jesus. Read the rest of this entry
