At His Word
Luke 5:5-7 “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners… soon both boats were filled with fish…”
Expect new chapters of Provision. Luke 5:3 “Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.” This same Simon had fished all night but caught nothing. After using his boat, Jesus wanted to thank Simon, but He did not bring his cheque book. And since He controls everything, Jesus said to him in Luke 5:4 “…Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.” Jesus likes to say thank you. If you are a child of God and you don’t like to say thank you, something is wrong with that. Resolve today to say thank you, to show your gratitude.
I imagine that Peter must have said something like, “You are a Preacher man, I am a fisherman. With all due respect, Sir, I know this business more than you. That I am not successful today does not mean that I am an idiot. But at Your Word…”. You must always give God the benefit of the doubt—always! Why? And it is because God knows more than you. A lot of the people who are so categorical do not really know God. You must always give God the benefit of the doubt because there is always a side you don’t see that God sees. And sometimes He keeps it to Himself, and He does not owe anybody to expose it.
Luke 5:5 “But Simon answered and said to Him, “…nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” (NKJV). In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, new chapters of provision will be opened unto you now to the point that your net will begin to break. You will need help, and God will bring help in the Name of Jesus. But the beauty of this story is not so much the provision. Yes, the provision is fantastic. However, the beauty of this story is that fishing ceased to be the source of Peter’s livelihood. Jesus became the source of his livelihood. Peter left all the fish that he caught and started following Jesus. I pray that every provision of God will bring you back to God and take you deeper with God in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Expect new chapters of Promotion. There are two main pointers to this, and the first is that God will begin to give you burdens. Very often, when God wants to promote, He gives a burden. But a lot of people do not understand it because when they pray for promotion, they are expecting a crack in the roof. No, the way God works is that when He wants to promote you, He gives you a burden. Nehemiah, for instance, was just a servant boy, but God gave him a burden for Jerusalem. And Nehemiah became the governor of Judah, which was a huge promotion.
Prayer: Father, please help me obey Your leading from my heart, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
