Communion

‘Meanwhile, as Peter was puzzling over the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, “Three men have come looking for you. Get up, go downstairs, and go with them without hesitation. Don’t worry, for I have sent them.” Acts.10:19-20

People think hearing God is so mysterious. The truth is that it is where you are spending most of your time that determines what you will be sensitive to. For instance, I spent a lot of time with my father while I was growing up. So when he sends me out to get the daily newspaper I did not have to ask him which one I should buy. My father was very political so some newspapers were preferred compared to others and there were some that he just would not buy. On the days I get there and the vendor does not have the preferred, the vendor was unable to get me to buy just any newspaper because that would be acting against my father’s wishes. I refuse because I know what my father wants even without going home to confirm from him. Similarly, spending time with God helps you know His ways.

You also need to see spiritually. You cannot survive as a Christian basing your judgment on only what you can see physically. I am praying again that your spiritual eyes will be open in Jesus Name. There are people who will bring gifts to you but the truth is that those gifts are not actually gifts. It takes God to show you or for you to discern that it is not every gift that you should take. Some gifts you just take out of courtesy but such gifts should never even get to your house. If I had taken every gift I was given I would be dead by now, long gone. Also in your walk with and work for God, you need your spiritual senses active. Even for things as basic as daily decisions you need your spiritual senses active or you will walk into pits dug by the enemy.

My point is this, the supernatural world is real and you have to learn how to navigate supernaturally. Your spirit man must be alive and your senses active and attentive to the Holy Spirit. This is where communion with God is key. It is communion with God that sharpens your senses and makes the supernatural world real to you. You can hear, see, and feel accurately. Communion with God is totally indispensable when it comes to operating in the supernatural.

Prayer: The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple [Ps.27:4], in Jesus Name.
