Another Helper

‘And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth…’ John 14:16-17

Jesus says ‘I will give you another helper’. The word another in this statement is not the word heteros, which means another of a different quality. It is the word allos meaning another of equal quality – the same. Then shortly after that Jesus says ‘I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you’. So the Holy Spirit is Jesus. He is the Spirit of Christ. So the Holy Spirit literarily took the place of Christ here on earth. The same way Jesus walked with the disciples is the same way the Holy Spirit will walk with us [another of the same quality]. The same way when the disciples did not have bread to eat and they ran to Jesus. When we do not have bread we too should go to the Holy Ghost. When they were confused, the disciples went to Jesus while He walked the earth. When we are confused we should go to the Holy Ghost. In fact to be successful on earth, you must really connect with the Holy Spirit.

In any organization in the world, even though people take it to the extreme, if you are not in good terms with the number one person you really can’t go far. Many times we do not discern the number one person quickly enough and it costs us. There was a time that in the Godhead, the Father was in charge. He was known as Jehovah. And the Father decided to send Jesus because not everybody was able to relate with Him. ‘God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets’ Heb.1:1 [KJV]. For that dispensation God talked to His people through the prophets but that was not His hearts desire. His desire was that all of us should be able to come to Him. When Jesus came on the scene it shifted to the dispensation of the Son. Jesus was in charge so everybody who wanted to talk to God spoke to Jesus. When Jesus was going He said the dispensation is changing, I am sending you another Comforter [John 16:7]. So we are now in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. The number one person right now, even though you cannot separate the Godhead, is the Holy Spirit. The person to ‘suck up’ to now is the Holy Spirit.
