Inspite Of Dysfunction III
‘Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me’ 2 Cor.12:9
You are not the first child of God to experience challenges. But you have to remember that God is too faithful to fail you and choose to focus on God’s faithfulness. Paul spent a great part of his ministry for Jesus in a prison. Yet inspite of the prison bars, Paul witnessed Christ. Paul and Zechariah could have spent their entire time throwing pity parties about what was lacking in their lives. They could both have given up serving God. Do you think they were not ridiculed for witnessing God inspite of their dysfunction? ‘He always stands by his covenant— the commitment he made to a thousand generations’ Ps.105:8. Guess what, God cannot be mocked. Before you were born, God is faithful. After you are gone, God will remain faithful. So your story cannot be the odd one out. I have made up my mind that God will not fail in my own time. I have heard how God heals the sick; He will heal the sick in my own time. I have heard how God delivers people; I will see deliverance in my own time because God will not fail in my own time. From generation to generation, God is God and He is not less committed to us.
‘The letter to the king of Israel said: “With this letter I present my servant Naaman. I want you to heal him of his leprosy.” When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes in dismay and said, “This man sends me a leper to heal! Am I God that I can give life and take it away…’ 2 Kings 5:6-7. We are bound to encounter problems and challenges when we place a demand on a king for what only a prophet can deliver. As believers we are kings, priests, and prophets. Every child of God is a king. The Bible says God has made us priests and kings unto Him [Rev.1:6] and He is God. You are a king, which means you have an area of influence. This area of influence could be in your career, your business, or your family. Every believer is a priest. You have a responsibility before God to show up with incense, prayer, and praise. And every believer is a prophet; you are the mouthpiece of God for your own destiny.
Prayer[song]: He has promised He will never fail. I will follow Him (2x). The Lord has promised He will never fail. His faithfulness is for evermore. Amen!
