Voice Of Instruction

‘But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy’ 2 kings 5:10.

The second voice Naaman experienced after he moved in the direction of the first voice was the voice of instruction. ‘Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy”. This made Naaman extremely furious. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me!’ 2 kings 5:11. When you go to church what exactly are you looking for? Are you looking for recognition, are you looking for titles, or is it God you have come to seek? After all there are people who do not want any sort of recognition for their input. Are they not people too? Yet there are people who get upset because their titles are not called out right or they were not given a front row seat based on their status. When you go to church what exactly are you seeking? The Word from God or the face of man? This is one of the reasons why people become so preoccupied with what one person did or didn’t do. I have encountered people in my years of pastoring whose grudge against me is that I laugh while I preach. Isn’t it the Good News we are carrying? If Good News does not make you laugh then something is wrong with that news. A lady sent me a text about how disappointed she was because I was reading the Bible from a computer on the altar of God. The Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword regardless of whether it’s in print or on a mobile device. Someone called to say we don’t pray enough, while another called me to say we pray too much. What do people want? As a pastor and a believer you cannot determine your life by what people dictate. You will kill yourself. Just make sure you hear and obey God. That is all you need! Seek instruction –the Word from His mouth. ‘I have regarded your word more than my necessary food’ David said. What is God saying to you? No matter how foolish it may appear to be, seek godly instruction.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to live my life based on Your dictates alone. Help me flush out approval addiction from my life, in Jesus Name.
