Enlarge & Abide

1 Chronicles 4:¹⁰ “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me… And God granted him that which he requested.” (KJV, emphasis added).

Jabez did not only ask that God will bless him indeed and in reality. Jabez also asked God to enlarge his coast, enlarge his territory. Jabez was praying that God would give him more influence. This is so powerful. I am praying for you that you will pray this prayer that God will enlarge your coast. Some of us are local champions, but God wants to make you an international champion. Some of us cannot even see beyond the four walls of our homes. Meanwhile, God wants to give you territories, make you Governors of wealth, and assign nations to you. God wants to give you more influence.

Jabez was asking God to give him more opportunities to bring glory to God and that is so powerful. The influence and the opportunities we have are for us to bring glory to God. That was Jabez’s prayer, and it should be our prayer also. That God will enlarge our influence and give us more opportunities to bring glory to Him. Pray that God will enlarge your wisdom. I pray that God will enlarge your wisdom and understanding in the Name of Jesus. God will enlarge not just your wisdom and understanding, but that God will also enlarge your humility in the Name of Jesus. God will enlarge your patience. For many of us, our patience needs to be enlarged. God will enlarge your love, joy, and the capacity of your physical strength.

God will enlarge and improve your character and vision in the Mighty Name of Jesus. No Small Dreams! (N.S.D). And if Jabez had just said bless me indeed, the blessings would come. But without the enlargement of the coast, the blessings will be limited. Without the enlargement of capacity, the blessings will be limited. Without the enlargement of vision, the blessings will be limited. Without the enlargement of wisdom, the blessings will be limited. Jabez with his vision, capacity, wisdom, physical strength, influence, and opportunity to bring glory to God enlarged, he knew that he would not be able to manage it by himself. Jabez knew that he needed God’s supernatural enablement and hand.

And so Jabez prayed, “that thine hand might be with me…”. When the Jews say Your hand, by inference, they are talking about what is known as the Right Hand of God. I pray that the right hand will be with you. The truth is that what separates the extraordinary from the ordinary is the hand of God, the finger of God. Jesus says, if I by the finger of God (by the hand of God), cast out demons… (Luke 11:20). That is the power of God, the force of heaven. What separates the extraordinary from the ordinary is the hand of God. That extra is the hand of God.

Prayer: Father, as You bless me indeed and in reality. As You enlarge my influence, my territory, please let Your right hand of power be with me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
