Inspite Of the Rain

2Kings 3:17 “You will see neither wind nor rain, says the LORD, but this valley will be filled with water. You will have plenty for yourselves and your cattle and other animals” [with emphasis].

It is easy to read this Scripture and not connect with the depth of what God is saying to us. So let me explain in detail. In the Middle East when a drought comes to an end, it is usually with a very violent rain. The rain is so violent and windy that people run for cover. The effect of the rain can even cause erosion, crops will be washed away and there will be a lot of loss. But the Word of God to us is that you will not experience the violence of the rain but you will experience the result of the rain. You will not see the rain. You will not see the wind.

If you follow the story of these three kings in today’s scripture reference, if the rain had come on them, it would have been disastrous. Without the rain, it was also disastrous for them because they had gotten into a battle that God did not send them to. Their soldiers and animals were now dying as a result of the drought. But when God stepped in, He said, “I will keep the rain away but you will still have water. I will keep the violence away but you will still have abundance”. In other words, the storm and the violent wind will fall at a distance. Other people will take the hit but the water will flow to you.

Guess what? It also means that your enemies will be deluded and clueless. In this story, the enemies mistook the water for blood because they did not know it had rained. There are certain things that God will bring your way that your enemy will think you do not have because they do not expect you to have gotten it and because they have blocked every avenue for you to acquire such things. There was no rain so their minds did not expect water. But God is able to give you water without rain. God is able to promote you. Do not be fixated on the rain. Trust God for water. How He brings the water is His business.

Erroneously, some people think that because they are good to everybody, they do not have enemies. If they do not trouble the devil, he will leave them alone. It is a big lie. Your enemies will misinterpret the signs and the wonders to your favour. The Holy Spirit does unimaginable things and there is nothing the enemy can do about it.

Prayer: Father, I believe that You are able to give me water without rain. Lord, cause my enemies to misinterpret Your salvation for me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
