Provocative Blessings I

“Then they took the man who had been blind to the Pharisees, because it was on the Sabbath that Jesus had made the mud and healed him” John 9:13-14

When a man who was blind from birth gets healed, what should happen in the community? They should be rejoicing and celebrating, right? However, I read the story in John 9:1-41, more than once, and nobody rejoiced with this man. The disciples did not rejoice with him, his neighbors did not rejoice with him, the Read the rest of this entry

His Time

“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him John 9:3

Miracles bring glory to our God. If you truly understand that miracles bring glory to God you would know that you should not be fretting. In other words, Your life is for His glory. Meaning, if it is well with you, it is for the glory of the Father. Do you understand? So it is in His interest that you are doing well. Which also means you do Read the rest of this entry

Trust God!

“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose” Rom.8:28 [AMP]

Will you trust that God will show His glory even when you do not understand the suffering? Everyone can pay his or her school fees. How come you are the only one who cannot pay school fees yet? Would you trust God to show His glory or would you be overly consumed with ‘why’ you are suffering. It is up to us really but I think God Read the rest of this entry

His Answer

“Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” John 9:2

Over the next few days we will be learning a couple of life defining truths from the story in John 9:1-41 [please read]. Jesus’ disciples concluded that the man’s blindness [suffering] must be as a result of sin. Sadly, many of us still think like this even now. We conclude that people are suffering as a result of sin either directly or indirectly.

Person And Principles

“Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matt.11:29

The world and the church consistently struggle with understanding the Person of Jesus and the principles of Jesus. The truth you and I must accept is, you do not need the Person of Jesus to work the principles of Jesus. There are some principles that are universal and such principles will work whether you are a believer or not. The Read the rest of this entry

God Responds

Remember, O Lord, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly” 2kings20:3 [emphasis added].

When the time comes, because the time will come, let there be something you can go to God and say “Lord remember”. When the time came for Nehemiah, he went to God and said, “Remember, O my God, all that I have done for these people, and bless me for it” Neh.5:19. Read the rest of this entry

Relational Advantage

“When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord2 kings 20:2

Be encouraged because Jesus does not need permission from anyone before He sends you help from above. Hezekiah knew that God did not need Isaiah’s permission to help him. So when Isaiah had delivered his message from God, Hezekiah faced God himself. And it was because he knew that God does not need the permission of the Read the rest of this entry

Life Lessons

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not reject” Ps.51:17

The second lesson from the life of Hezekiah is, he sought out those who will help him. In seeking those who will help him, Hezekiah did three things. He restored the Levitical priesthood [Please read 2 Chro.13:17]. He re-established the Passover [2 Chr.30:1]. And Hezekiah sought out help and counsel from Isaiah. He sat down with Read the rest of this entry

Tear It Down!

“He removed the pagan shrines, smashed the sacred pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke up the bronze serpent that Moses had made, because the people of Israel had been offering sacrifices to it. The bronze serpent was called Nehushtan” 2 Kings 18:4

Please read Numbers 21:4-9, this was a time when the children of Israel were going through a challenging time and they sinned against God. As a result God sent serpents to bite them causing a lot of deaths in the camp. They realized their mistake and cried out for mercy. And God told Moses to raise up a bronze serpent called Read the rest of this entry

Break It Now!

“He removed the pagan shrines, smashed the sacred pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke up the bronze serpent that Moses had made, because the people of Israel had been offering sacrifices to it. The bronze serpent was called Nehushtan” 2 Kings 18:4

One thing you need to know about generational curses is that they flow through generational errors. If you get this, your life will be transformed and you will be set free from curses.
