Safe Place

Ps.16:3 (MSG) “And these God-chosen lives all around—what splendid friends they make!”

The Church is a refuge. But the painful reality is that sometimes, the last place people want to be when things do not work is the Church. For some reason, a lot of people think that the Church is a place where you go off to show off Read the rest of this entry

Tucked In

Ps.27:5-6 For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. 6 Then I will hold my head high above my enemies… At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music.

Prov.15:13 (GW) “… with a heartache comes depression.” (emphasis added). Sometimes, things happen that attempt to keep us down, to make us depressed. The first thing is, do not deny it. Do not push it away, Read the rest of this entry

Acknowledge

Ps.13:2-3, &5 “How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. But I trust in your unfailing love…”

Placebo

Isa.40:27-28 “O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary…”

For the next couple of weeks, even as the year winds down, we will be looking at the five D’s that attempt to prevent us from rejoicing. We will be dismantling the five D’s Read the rest of this entry

Winning Side

Ps.126:1-3 (MSG) “It seemed like a dream, too good to be true, when God returned Zion’s exiles. We laughed, we sang, we couldn’t believe our good fortune. We were the talk of the nations—“God was wonderful to them!” God was wonderful to us; we are one happy people.”

Ps.126:2-3 “We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

In Sync

Judg.7:19-22 “…Suddenly, they blew the rams’ horns and broke their clay jars …and they all shouted, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” …all the Midianites rushed around in a panic …the Lord caused the warriors in the camp to fight against each other with their swords.”

Sacrifice II

1 Kings 18:38-39 (NIV) “Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!”

You and I need to understand the place of sacrifice because it is a huge part of the Christian’s journey. God says He will bless the works of your hands; the hands need to work to qualify for the blessing. Read the rest of this entry

Sacrifice I

Acts 16:25-26 “Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and… Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”

While the prison doors are removed from the body and have no contact with the body of the prisoners. The chains have direct contact with the hands and the legs (the body) of the prisoners. Read the rest of this entry

His Sound II

Acts 2:2 “Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.” (emphasis added)

Every great move of God is preceded by a sound. This season, you will hear both the sound of victory and the sound of freedom in Jesus Mighty Name. The first thing that births the sound of freedom is Praise and Prayer. Read the rest of this entry

His Sound I

Gen.1:1-3 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”

Yesterday, we shared the first of two things you need to know about the Holy Spirit. And that is that the Holy Spirit is a person. Did you talk to the Holy Spirit like we said? What questions did you ask Him and what was His response? Read the rest of this entry
