Domestic Affairs III

“Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” Col.3:19

“Husbands, love your wives [be affectionate and sympathetic with them] and do not be harsh or bitter or resentful toward them” Col.3:19 [AMP, emphasis added]. That word affectionate there means to be romantic. Men, God is saying be romantic, it is in the Bible. Chivalry should not die, be romantic. Some gentleman came to me and said he had been Read the rest of this entry

Domestic Affairs II

“Wives, be subject to your husbands [subordinate and adapt yourselves to them], as is right and fitting and your proper duty in the Lord” Col.3:18 [AMP, emphasis added]

Wives, God is saying adapt! You already have planned out how you want your life to run, and then you hook up with this man. God is saying rearrange your life around him. I mean that is so unfair, by our twenty first century equal right movement. But that is what the Word of God says, you adapt to your husband. When my wife and I first got married I discovered that Read the rest of this entry

Set Yourself Free

“In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us” Col.3:11

What will be the authority in your life? Is it going to be the Word of God or the traditions of men? There was this particular wedding, real life story, the groom I think was Yoruba and the bride was Igbo. And the parents of both the bride and the groom will not have it. So this couple had to go through hell to get the two families to attend the wedding ceremony. Their Read the rest of this entry

Just Follow Jesus

I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ HimselfCol.2:2.

Our lives flow from Christ. Every other thing will lead to emptiness. Amazingly in the Book of Colossians, Paul talks about the mysteries of God and then says he does not want the church in Colossae to be oblivious of it. He wants the church to be aware of the mysteries of God. Paul says he wants the church, which applies to you and I, to have complete confidence that Read the rest of this entry

Through Christ

He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.  For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ… And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his gloryCol.1:17, 19, & 27 [emphasis added]

You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work2Tim.3:15-17. Read the rest of this entry

Constant Pull

“We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments” 2 Cor.10:4

For every Word God gives you there is a constant tussle until the Word accomplishes God’s purpose in your life. “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send itIsaiah 55:11. God will give you a Word for your next level. But guess what? Men will also give you a word. It is almost an eternal battle Read the rest of this entry

Salvation vs. Success

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Josh.1:8 [emphasis added].

Salvation has nothing to do with new behavior but everything to do with new creation. Success on the other hand has everything to do with new behavior. Salvation has nothing to do with new behavior. One cannot say; if I read my Bible more then I will be saved. Wrong! Or if I meditate more then I will be saved. Wrong again! There is nothing like a ten things to do list to get saved. There is nothing you Read the rest of this entry

Levels Of Obedience III

“When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you” John 2:3-5 [NIV]

You cannot get beyond your level of obedience. Please read John 2:1-5. It is the story of Jesus in the marriage at Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother said to Jesus, they don’t have wine and Jesus says, it is not my business. But His mother goes and says to the servants, whatever he tells you to do, do it! Do what? Do whatever He tells you to do and she probably walked away. Then Jesus said to the servants, Read the rest of this entry

Levels Of Obedience II

“So they called the apostles back in and commanded them never again to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him?” Acts 4:18-19.

The first level of obedience is to the Word of God. The second level of obedience is to the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God can never lead you contrary to the Word of God. If you feel a leading to do anything contrary to the Word of God, dismiss it. The third level of obedience is to authority. God expects us to obey constituted authority. However, where authority is asking us to contravene God, Read the rest of this entry

Levels Of Obedience I

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” Josh.1:8 [emphasis added].

You have read in the Bible that we should study it, meditate on it, and just do it. Peter asked Jesus how many times does one forgive his brother in a single day and Jesus said seventy times seven in a single day. You have read it, meditated on it, just do it. Someone has offended you, the next thing you do is forgive. But rather you are saying no one understands, you need time… What do you need time Read the rest of this entry
