Hardened
A farmer went out to plant some seed. As he scattered it across his field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds came and ate it” Lu.8:5 [emphasis added]
Jesus explained our Scripture reference today to mean, “The hard path where some seed fell represents the hard hearts of those who hear the words of God, but then the devil comes and steals the words away and prevents people from believing and being saved” Lu.8:12 [LB, emphasis added]. To understand the footpath, you have to look at it from a farmer’s perspective. The footpath is the trail the farmer takes when he is sowing seed or irrigating his farm. So it is Read the rest of this entry
Stay On Track
“Let everyone be sure to do his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work done well, and won’t need to compare himself with someone else” Gal. 6:4 [LB]
The first way to reduce the stress of competition is to Stop Comparing. Comparing is a foolish thing to do because you are unique. God designed you uniquely. In fact, God designed your genes uniquely. No two human beings have the same genes. You have designer genes. Why is it a bad thing to compare? It is because it causes envy and bitterness. It makes you miserable, do not do it. “Let everyone be sure to do his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work done well, and won’t need to compare himself with someone else” Gal.6:4[LB, emphasis added]. The Secret I
“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed” 2 Cor. 4:8-9 [emphasis added].
You will discover that as your life progresses, you are going to meet challenges. Life sometimes throws us curved balls and we get discouraged easily. However, how to think clearly when these challenges or problems come, is what we must tackle in this season. If there is one man in the New Testament that had a lot challenges in his life, it was Apostle Paul. And he says, “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed” 2 Cor. 4:8-9 [emphasis added]. Read the rest of this entry
The Path II
“You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.” Ps.66:12 [NIV, emphasis added].
Many people are jeopardizing their hard place by taking shortcuts. The shortcuts are the reason why they do not arrive in the wealthy place. The reason why it appears as if there is no wealthy place is because people insist on taking shortcuts. There is no shortcut! You need to go through the grind. Be prepared because when you are going through the grind, it will be very uncomfortable and sometimes humiliating. If I were to show Read the rest of this entry
The Path I
“Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place” Ps.66:12 [KJV, emphasis added]
Take note of the path to the wealthy place in today’s scriptural reference. The path to abundance can be tough. And because of that a lot of people have taken a detour off the path. If you are on that tough path and you are contemplating taking a detour, my sincere advice is, don’t. And it is because you are about to enter into your wealthy place. Stay on course. Phases
“Now to the God who can do so many awe-inspiring things, immeasurable things, things greater than we ever could ask or imagine through the power at work in us” Eph.3:20 [Voice, emphasis added]
Intention is key in any relationship. It is more important to know the intention of a gift than to receive the gift. Which is why I often say to ladies, what are the intentions of the gentleman that keeps buying you gifts? There is no such thing as he is just kind hearted; find out his intentions. Am I saying a man cannot just have good intentions? There is no free lunch in Freetown, they say. Am I saying people cannot give you gifts out of a good heart? My question is, can a man Read the rest of this entry
Hands Off I
“But select …some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups… They should always be available to solve the people’s common disputes… let the leaders decide the smaller matters themselves…” Ex.18:21-22
#3. Hands Off. To hands off is to delegate or to outsource. Delegate internally or outsource externally, but hands off. The question is what is that thing that only you can do? In your life, in your marriage, in your home, in your business what is that one thing that only you should be doing? Outsource every other thing, delegate every other thing and focus on that thing alone. Again I can take this to different areas of life. In your business for instance, now that things have stabilized, why are you still doing your bookkeeping? That is the job of an accounting firm so Read the rest of this entry
Think Differently I
“Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” Col.3:18-19 [emphasis added]
#2. Think differently. The second thing you need to do to simplify your life is to think differently. Imagine you have a long and complex ten-step process that you want to shorten to a simple four-step process and achieve the same result. The thinking that produced the ten-step process needs to change in order to produce the four-step process. If you keep thinking the same way, you cannot get anything better. To simplify the process, you need to think differently. So you need to ask what can be improved and how? Even the mother in the house has a ten-step Read the rest of this entry
Focus!
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” Josh.1:8 [NIV, emphasis added].
The principle of The Objective states thus: “Direct all efforts towards a clearly defined, decisive & attainable objective.” Three key things jump out immediately from this definition. Direct all efforts towards a Clearly Defined, Decisive and Attainable objective.
#2. Decisive: In the words of Major General Karl Von Clausewitz, “Pursue one great decisive aim with force and Read the rest of this entry
Face It!
“Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!” 1Sam.30:8-9
Stop and think about this portion of scripture for a minute. David had access to the oracle but see what he is asking, By God’s grace I am privileged to speak with people going through times and the question most of them ask is, “Lord, why did this happen to me”? Some demand an explanation from me about why God allowed it? Some are eager to know who they offended. Some start to list all the things they have done right [paying tithe, giving] as reasons why misfortune Read the rest of this entry
