Starting Point

1 Thess.5:17 “Never stop praying. Make your life a prayer.” (NLT & TPT).

Prayer is so central to the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. The first mention of when men began to call upon God and to pray was in Gen.4:26To Seth also a son was born, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to invoke the name of the Lord.” (NRSV). Read the rest of this entry

The Practice

James 5:17 “Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.” (KJV)

Once we understand prayer and we can stay in the place of prayer, we can look at an Ahab and like Elijah say, ‘There will be no rain except at my word’. You lock the heavens, put the key in your pocket and you go for a stroll. Read the rest of this entry

Prayer

Rom.8:26 “A similar thing happens when we pray. We are weak and do not know how to pray, so the Spirit steps in and articulates prayers for us with groaning too profound for words.” (Voice)

What does prayer mean to you? From my interactions with people, it is pretty clear to me that we all need to understand prayer better. Some people say, what is in prayer? Is it not just to pray to God? However, you will be surprised that most times people are off course because of a lack of Read the rest of this entry

Voices III

2 Sam.2:1 “After this, David asked the Lord, “Should I move back to one of the towns of Judah?” “Yes,” the Lord replied. Then David asked, “Which town should I go to?” “To Hebron,” the Lord answered.”

The voice of God, the voice of parents, the voice of friends, the voice of adversaries, the voice of the Bible, the voice of the flesh, the voice of the devil, and the voice of Prophets. Even though the office of the prophet has been heavily abused and commercialized,  God still speaks through people, through Read the rest of this entry

Ultimate Substitute

Heb.2:10 “God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.”

So far we have looked at two ways by which point of contact operates and they are; Point Of Contact By Symbols And Tokens and Point Of Contact By Seeds. The third way by which point of contact operates is Point Of Contact By Substitutes. Read the rest of this entry

By Seeds

2 Kings 4:9-10 “She said to her husband, “I am sure this man who stops in from time to time is a holy man of God. Let’s build a small room for him on the roof and furnish it with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp. Then he will have a place to stay whenever he comes by.”

We are still on the first of the ways by which point of contact operates and that is Point Of Contact By Symbols And Tokens. Sometimes, God can use the mantle from the old order to kick start the new order. But sometimes, God wants to start a new order and the mantle from the old order is simply Read the rest of this entry

His Ways

Isaiah 55:8-9 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

1 Sam.17:49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.” (KJV, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

It Is Time

John 4:10 “Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”

How have you been responding to Jesus? The Samaritan woman got the gift God had for her and got to know who she was speaking to because she chose to be vulnerable. It is easy to look at this Samaritan woman and call her different names. But the question remains, Read the rest of this entry

Open Up

Psalm 116:6 “So I’ve learned from my experience that God protects the vulnerable. For I was broken and brought low, but he answered me and came to my rescue!” (TPT)

Jn.11:35 Jesus wept.” Jesus wept because He was present. The question is “what keeps us from being present?” What keeps us from being present is wearing a mask. Wearing of masks was recommended to keep us safe during the covid 19 pandemic. Read the rest of this entry

Be Present!

Phillip.2:8 “He humbled himself and became vulnerable, choosing to be revealed as a man and was obedient. He was a perfect example, even in his death—a criminal’s death by crucifixion!” (TPT).

To get up and to walk in resurrection power, to be all that we were made to be, to arise and to shine in the brightness that God has made for us, firstly we must know the Living Jesus, that Jesus Christ is alive. Secondly, we must know the King Jesus, that Jesus Christ is King. Read the rest of this entry
