Give Thanks!
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Ps.136:1 [emphasis added].
Many times we do not stop to say thank you profusely enough at God’s goodness. Let your thanksgiving be commensurate to how much you desired the breakthrough. If the breakthrough requires you to fast and pray, maybe the testimony should require you to dance and rejoice. Dance before God. Rejoice before your Maker. Give thanks to the God that has spared you and kept you in spite of the pain. With all that we are if we are anything at Read the rest of this entry
Criterion
“But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave” Matt.20:26-27 [emphasis added].
The fifth thing that the early church was big on is Service. Jesus, the Son of the Living God that instituted the Church was Himself an epitome of service. Please read Matthew 20:20-28. James and John the sons of Zebedee, thought to themselves that even though Jesus has twelve disciples there must be a number one and number two. So they sought the help of their mother who went to Jesus Read the rest of this entry
Stewardship
“And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need” Acts 2:44-45 [emphasis added]
The early church was big on stewardship. The question is what is stewardship? Who is a steward? Simply put, a steward is someone that is in charge of some else’s property. A steward by definition is one who manages and looks after another’s property. You and I are stewards and this dates back to the very beginning. “The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it” Gen.2:15. Read the rest of this entry
The Difference
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” Prov. 11: 25 [KJV]
Yesterday we talked about the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. The former is characteristic of a giver and the later is characteristic of a taker. You need to ask yourself the hard question and answer it truthfully, “Am I a Taker or am I a Giver?” “Am I the Sea of Galilee in my relationships or am I the Dead Sea in my marriage?” Taking is different from receiving. We all must examine ourselves and honestly answer these Read the rest of this entry
Who Are You?
“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” Prov. 11:24-25 [KJV]
The church is the Assembly of God’s people, the body of Christ. But many people have different ideas on what the church should be or what the church should do. And gradually, over the years the people in the church have become increasingly selfish and we make it all about them. People are quick to ask, “How can the church meet my needs?” “What about me?” “What about my convenience?” At the end of the day, Read the rest of this entry
Keys To Effortless Worship III
“I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little” Phil.4:12
David had a carefree heart. He was more concerned about God than what people said about him. A carefree heart is not an irresponsible heart or a heart in denial, instead it is a heart that is anchored on the assurance of the love and faithfulness of the Father, and refuses to fret. But instead trusts and thanks God for His Good and perfect will that is there to do us good. I pray that God will empower you to live a Read the rest of this entry
God Alone!
“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God” James 4:4.
What guarantees victory over satan is the Word, the Blood of Jesus, and not fearing death. Do you know why islamic militancy appears to be gaining a lot of grounds and terrorizing everybody so far on earth? Firstly, it is because the enemy copies the truth and perverses it. And secondly, it is because they are not afraid to die. The moment you have a leader that is not Read the rest of this entry
Know The Enemy II
“And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” Gen.3:15
God is a Godhead [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit] and I have inherited His enemies. To fully understand the enemy and how it works you need to know the enemy of the Father, the enemy of the Son, and the enemy of the Holy Spirit. What is the enemy of the Son? The enemy of the Son is satan. The direct enemy of Jesus is satan. We see that stated Read the rest of this entry
Domestic Affairs V
“Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged” Col.3:20-21
How often should children obey their parents? Always obey your parent for this pleases the Lord. So children should always obey their parents for it is pleasing unto the Lord. Just obey! However, where is the boundary in this? The boundary in this is simple, in our culture it is not uncommon to hear a mother speaking to a married man and telling the married man this is what you do Read the rest of this entry
Domestic Affairs IV
“Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” Col.3:19
“Husbands, love your wives [be affectionate and sympathetic with them] and do not be harsh or bitter or resentful toward them” Col.3:19 [AMP, emphasis added]. A man goes out of his way trying to be nice and tries to buy his wife a gift. But the first thing the wife says is how much did you buy it? The man is not sure where this is going but he responds fifteen Read the rest of this entry
