Next Steps

The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ Luke 10:27.

If you are going to break the ice effectively you have to live in 3D. Your friend’s next step could be a book, or a sermon CD, or the next step could be just keep quiet and be friendly; don’t talk about Jesus. And when your relationship has grown and deeply rooted, the next step may be to ask them directly to give their lives to Jesus. But you do not start by asking the person to give his/her life to Read the rest of this entry

Introduction 104

‘”You are the salt of the earth. But what good is the salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless’ Matt.5:13.

I have had different people who want to start a business contact me with a name or a slogan for the business. Sometimes it reads something like this “Jesus is Lord beauty salon”. And they want me to affirm their slogan or business name; they want to know if it is good. And I say no because it is not a good name. When you put up or put forward a name like that, you are alienating some people. In Read the rest of this entry

Introduction 103

‘You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had…  He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross’ Phil.2:5 & 8

Third Thing: Just break the ice. There is a major hindrance to breaking the ice with people. The major hindrance that I have realized with myself also in breaking the ice, is ego and pride. Jesus was the first person to walk across the cosmos, come on earth, and break the ice. ‘You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as Read the rest of this entry

Introduction 102

‘Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you- I am he” …Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” John 4:26, 28-29 [NIV]

You need to be deliberate with making friends with people that are not saved. You may be in a sphere of your life right now that you know you need to run for your life, my sincere advice is run for your new life. But if you feel an urgent need to introduce your friends who are non-believers to Jesus while you are still growing, then perhaps you want to go with another believer so that they Read the rest of this entry

Unique Presence

‘Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the ageMatt.28:20

Jesus is the foundation of the entity called the church. The original Greek word translated church is the word ‘Ekklesia’. Please follow me carefully; I would not throw a Greek word at you if it is not significant. The word ekklesia simply means a gathering or an assembly of people summoned [called out] for a particular purpose. For instance, citizens called out and gathered together for Read the rest of this entry

Ultimate Purpose

‘Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the ageMatt.28:20.

The highest purpose of your calling, regardless of where you have been called to work or serve, is to lead people to God. Your ultimate purpose is to connect people to Christ Jesus. This simply means that the new level, or business, or promotion, or community that God has brought you into, God has given you, or God is leading you into, is to bring people to God. Your ultimate purpose as a child of Read the rest of this entry

Sow A Seed

‘When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish”’ Luke 5:4

In Proverbs, the Bible says ‘when you give to the poor you are lending to the Lord’. When you loan someone something, you get back what you lent the person right? Of course we trust that God will give you much more because He is God. But when you take care of the poor, the Bible says, your health will break forth speedily. Why did people give to Solomon even though he had more money Read the rest of this entry

Principle Of Honor I

‘Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.’ Prov.3:9-10 [KJV]

Another area in which you sow is the first-fruit. When it comes to first-fruit, I have been in church long enough to hear different theories about first-fruit. I have sought personally God myself, about first-fruit. I have come to this conclusion- first-fruit is not by force. It is not like tithe that if you don’t pay God says the devourer is coming. First-fruit is a principle of honor. ‘Honour the Lord with thy Read the rest of this entry

In The Seed

‘As the host of heaven cannot be numbered: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant…’ Jer.33:22 [KJV]

The fifth way to relate with money is Multiply Money. God wants us to multiply money. There are two main strategies for multiplying money that we can pull from the strategies of saving. We save for two main reasons. Not for rainy day or to beat the inflation rate but for investments and for sowing. Saving and sowing are two ways of multiplying money. You multiply money by physically investing the Read the rest of this entry

No Excuses

The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!”Prov.22:13.

One characteristic lazy people have in common is excuses. The lazy person always comes up with genuine and nicely packaged excuses. Think about it, someone says there’s a lion in the street and he doesn’t want to go out. If you advise the person to go out, won’t you look like a bad person? That’s the problem with the lazy man. He pitches his excuse so that when you advise otherwise, you look like a bad person.
