Freedom vs. License?
“Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism…” Rom.6:1-2
Grace is freedom from sin, grace is not license to sin! If you do not understand grace, you would think grace is license to sin. You would think it acceptable to sin and you can always come back to the Blood of Jesus for cleansing. That was what Paul was addressing when he said to the Romans should you continue sinning so that grace should abound, God forbid. In Read the rest of this entry
Transferred
“Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault” Col.1:22 [emphasis added]
You are holy! Say it aloud, I am holy. Some people cannot even say it because they struggle with it. Do not struggle with it. Perhaps you are not yet holy but you will be today, in Jesus Name. You are holy and blameless! As you stand before Him, you stand without a single fault. This truth is just so mind blowing. But the mind says, see who you used to be, see what you Read the rest of this entry
Reconciled!
“Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault” Col.1:22
The Word of God is just amazing and so powerful. My advice to you today is spend time reading it daily. However, there may be someone reading today’s devotional but is still feeling confused about his or her stand with God. God has a Word for you through the Book of Colossians. Are you ready? Single-mindedness
“Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything” Col.1:18
Christ is the head of the church and we are His body. You cannot tell someone you like his or her head but you do not like the same persons legs. The Church is the Bride of Christ. Similarly, you cannot say I love you but I do not like your wife. In fact, for me, if you do not like my wife you cannot be my friend. So I check people that do not like my wife and I run Read the rest of this entry
Love God + God’s People!
“For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people” Col.1:4
“For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people” Col.1:4 [emphasis added]. This is just so profound. When I saw this, I paused. I can see that the Scripture points out; we have seen your faith in Christ and your love to God’s people. This means that it is impossible to love Jesus and hate the church, it is impossible to love Jesus and hate His people. It is impossible to love God and hate God’s people. God’s people Read the rest of this entry
Strategic Relationships
“But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News…” Col.1:23
Every parent must understand the Principle of Borrowed Voices, particularly as your children grow, someone external and God fearing that will echo godly values you uphold in your children. Sometimes, the same things you have been trying to get your child to embrace and do, someone [a borrowed voice] says the same things then it seems they are hearing it for the Read the rest of this entry
Being A Christian
“This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace” Col.1:6
The Word of God is so powerful, rich, beautiful, and so amazing. We are going to be spending a lot of time with God’s Word over the next few weeks as we study the Book of Colossians. Please study Colossians chapter one as we kick off our study from there. Being a Christian is all about life change. The Word of God has come to us to change our lives. If who you were Read the rest of this entry
Who Are You?
“I AM the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser” John 15:1 [AMP]
I try to be like Jesus, we all should be like Jesus. I have been asked a lot of the time, how come you are not stressed? How do you even find the time to read a book? I say to people that I read four books at the same time why because if I read one book I get bored. My brain needs to be working in different directions. Not one but Read the rest of this entry
Living Stress Free?
“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” Jn.8:12
Have you remembered to thank God for this day and for His kindness? Now and again we can say that this period or that period in our lives has been the most stressful of our year so far. Stress that comes from meeting up with obligations, or attending parties just to show we care or are a part of “who is who” in the society. Read the rest of this entry
Believers’ Authority
“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus” Eph.2:6
You need to build your own altar with God, yourself. Why? Because a lot of the people you are relying on to build it for you, have malicious intentions. My wife and I were visiting a family outside Nigeria, who live in an all white community. There can’t be any demons there right? We parked a distance from the house so Read the rest of this entry
