No Repentance, No Restoration!

‘Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you’ Ps.51:12.

The third reason David almost lost that battle is; restoration without repentance will always lead to regret. Absalom was not repentant at all. He still felt slighted that the king would deal with him the way he did. He didn’t see what he had done wrong. “Amnon raped my sister for crying out loud and I killed him. So bloody what?” No repentance. Leaders take note, when you restore someone that has not repented; you are setting yourself up for trouble. This Read the rest of this entry

Leadership

‘So the king went out and took his seat at the town gate, and as the news spread throughout the town that he was there, everyone went to him. Meanwhile, the Israelites who had supported Absalom fled to their homes’ 2Sam.19:8

Permit me to reiterate yesterday’s conclusion by way of emphasis. In leadership, the attitude of the leader affects everybody else. Leaders we have to be careful, you are carrying a lot of weight. I know that you are carrying things that if the people around you knew about they will be more sensitive to you. They won’t just open their mouths and say rubbish but they don’t know. Yet it is still your duty to maintain the right atmosphere in your house, in your Read the rest of this entry

A Father’s Love

‘And the king gave this command to Joab, Abishai, and Ittai: “For my sake, deal gently with young Absalom”. And all the troops heard the king give this order to his commanders’ 2 Sam.18:5

Now Absalom was praised as the most handsome man in all Israel. He was flawless from head to foot. He cut his hair only once a year, and then only because it was to heavy…2Sam.14:25-26. God set Absalom up and while he was chasing David, that same hair that was his glory was what hung him on a tree. Every time you chase your father, the same thing that brought glory to you will hang you. David understood this and that is why he couldn’t Read the rest of this entry

I See A Gift

Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it’ Prov.22:6 [AMP].

As a parent, whether spiritual or biological, it is important to be discerning. For some people, the enemy is trying to push their gifting in directions that do not glorify God. This is where you come in as a parent; nurture your child back into the way of the Lord. There was a lady I used to disciple. This lady could lie. She could tell you that it’s dark outside at noon even though you can see its bright outside. And she would shed hearty tears and you will be forced to reconsider that maybe it is Read the rest of this entry

Read The Bible!

‘And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ’ Eph.5:21

How many of us would agree with this statement, ‘the man is not the head of the woman!’ Not many men would agree, in fact some men get really upset when you bring up topics like this. Yet the truth is that the man is not the head of the woman. It is in the Bible [Eph.5:22]. Yes, the husband is the head of his wife but every man is not the head of every woman. Haven’t you noticed that you are not the head of my wife? Read the rest of this entry

Let God Lead You

‘Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.’ Jer.17:5

The fifth thing that causes us grief, which is also unnecessary, is when we trust in man rather than in God. ‘Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabitedJer.17:5-6. In other words, the person will be looking in one direction-unto man and good will be coming Read the rest of this entry

Male Or Female

‘For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit’ 1 Cor.12:13

A number of people today, male and female, alike do not believe that women should be allowed to speak in church or be ordained into leadership positions or allowed to become lead pastors. As far as they are concerned scripture states that it is a shame for women to speak in church [1 Cor.14:34-36]. Again when Jesus chose his twelve disciples none of them was a woman so why are women now being allowed to step out of line? There are three schools of thought – Read the rest of this entry

Follow The Word!

‘A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach’ 1 Tim.3:2 [KJV]

Some issues can only be addressed based on the Word of the God and not based on the doctrines of men. ‘All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness’ 2 Tim.3:16 [KJV]. The Word of God says, ‘that male and female created He them’ – one man one wife. God did not create three wives for Adam. ‘For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and be joined Read the rest of this entry

The Prophet

‘And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days’ Gen.49:1 [KJV]

The father is the prophet of the family. Where are the eyes? It is on the head so how come it is only your wife that sees visions? How come she is the one that hears what God is saying? How come she is able to discern and guide you on what investments to make or tell you the direction the Holy Ghost is moving in? All you are doing is going along with the direction she is providing. Something is wrong with that. A man that is standing in this position has become a figurehead prophet in his family. You need to change and get closer to Read the rest of this entry

The Help Mate

‘And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him’ Gen.2:18

Yesterday we said that some men pass through seasons in their lives where they are unable to function as providers for their family. It is the responsibility of every wife to understand how hard this is for her husband and support him through that season. Support, encourage, and pray for your husband because he will come out of that season in Jesus Name. There is no one that stays in God’s Favourite House that will remain poor. I say this with all humility and the integrity of God in my heart. I have made a covenant with God upon this house Read the rest of this entry
