Instructions To Obey

‘Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do’ Josh.1:8.

Goliath is a very popular character in the Bible and his fall made room for David’s promotion. As the goliath’s fall in our lives this season, promotion will follow suit in Jesus Name. David was a shepherd boy, he was just a no name, tending to sheep and goats. But David had an unusual trait and that is David is a communicator. There is something in David that just wants to have a conversation. And when David Read the rest of this entry

Posture Of Obedience

‘Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’” 1Sam.3:8-9 [NKJV].

The third thing in enquiring from the Lord is a posture of obedience. When you are asking God a question you must have a posture of obedience. In other words, you must make up your mind to obey whatever He says. In 1 Samuel 3 [please read], God was calling Samuel but he did not know the voice of God so he ran to Eli instead. Heart Check III

And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him. Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him1Sam.18:14-15 [KJV].

How did Saul lose his kingdom? There was battle, there needed to be sacrifice so that God would intervene. Samuel was supposed to come and perform the sacrifice. Saul waited and waited and Samuel was late. How can a man of God come late? But Samuel came late. And the Philistines were approaching, gathering, and closing in. The people were agitated and Saul must have said, “I know how to do this thing. I have seen Prophet Samuel do it several times. Is it Read the rest of this entry

Trust And Obey

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine’ Isa.55:8

God will ask you sometimes to behave as though you already have what you are requesting of Him. It is foolishness but faith is obeying God even though I don’t understand it. Faith is giving even when I don’t have it. God says give this mount, and you say, “Lord, I don’t even have it”. Faith is giving what you don’t have. Faith is persisting when I don’t feel like it. How can a leper go to the priest? But as they obeyed Jesus, as they moved, the Bible says they were healed. I tell people that they don’t have a money Read the rest of this entry

Relationship II

‘He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy’ Luke 17:14.

I was chatting with a young man who had a bad experience with his earthly father. And he was telling me that he cannot relate with God as a Father. Every time he tries to relate with God as a father, he finds that he has resentments. All the issues he has with his earthly father begin to play out in his relationship with God. I had to take him through a whole teaching on God as a father. He was almost crying. God is better than your earthly father. Regardless of whether your earthly father has misbehaved or Read the rest of this entry

Stirred Up

…Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish”. “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” Luke 5:4-5

It is important for us, as believers, to know that God can stir us up just to preach the gospel and sometimes it can be to total strangers. Go with God’s leading. A friend of mine invited me for her party. They were all teenagers and you know how teenager’s parties can be. I grabbed the microphone, called for their attention and preached Jesus. When I was done I declared the party could continue but instead they all began to leave one after the other. She said she hated me for spoiling Read the rest of this entry

Next Steps

The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ Luke 10:27.

If you are going to break the ice effectively you have to live in 3D. Your friend’s next step could be a book, or a sermon CD, or the next step could be just keep quiet and be friendly; don’t talk about Jesus. And when your relationship has grown and deeply rooted, the next step may be to ask them directly to give their lives to Jesus. But you do not start by asking the person to give his/her life to Read the rest of this entry

Worthy Purpose

‘Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work’ John 4:34

Go and get your husband”, Jesus told her. “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied. Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband…John 4:16-18. Jesus connected to the Samaritan woman’s story by word of knowledge while He was talking with her. She was astonished as Jesus began to tell her her life’s history. When we develop friendships, the purpose is to discover stories. Read the rest of this entry

In The Seed

‘As the host of heaven cannot be numbered: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant…’ Jer.33:22 [KJV]

The fifth way to relate with money is Multiply Money. God wants us to multiply money. There are two main strategies for multiplying money that we can pull from the strategies of saving. We save for two main reasons. Not for rainy day or to beat the inflation rate but for investments and for sowing. Saving and sowing are two ways of multiplying money. You multiply money by physically investing the Read the rest of this entry

Retention Capacity II

‘…Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon every container was full to the brim! “Bring me another jar”, she… “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing’ 2 kings 4:5-6.

You need to realize that it is your capacity that is limiting God not God’s ability. It is your capacity – your capacity to believe. You need to increase your capacity to belong. Some of us cannot keep relationships. Some people do not know how to value relationships. You need to increase your capacity to work. ‘…Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled’. That is a lot of work. If she had stopped at vessel number three and said she was tired, her Read the rest of this entry
