Weighty

1 John 4:10 & 19 (KJV) “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins… We love him, because he first loved us.”

Picture this; John 1:26-27 “John answered them, “I baptize with water. Among you stands one whom you do not know, the one who is coming after me; I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandal.(NRSV, emphasis added). John 13:3-5 Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.” Read the rest of this entry

Who Are You?

Gal.5:16 (NIV) “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

We are starting today’s devotional by diving headfirst into God’s Word. John 1:19-23This is the testimony given by John when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” He confessed and did not deny it, but confessed, “I am not the Messiah.” And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.” Then they said to him, “Who are you? Let us have an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” He said, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’” as the prophet Isaiah said.” (NRSV). The Prophet they are referring to is the one Moses spoke about in Deuteronomy 18:15 [please read]. Read the rest of this entry

In His Service

Eph. 4:16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”

Yesterday, we learnt that we can show gratitude to God by singing from our hearts and by telling others the good news. The third way we can show gratitude to God is to thank God by Serving Him With The Abilities He Has Given Us. Read the rest of this entry

Reason Enough

Ps.106:1 “Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord! How good you are! Your love for us continues on forever.” (TLB)

We start today’s devotional with our final thoughts from yesterday which is, why should you and I live a life of thanksgiving to God? You and I should live a life of thanksgiving to God because of who He is and because of what He has done. Read the rest of this entry

Praise On

Hab.3:17-18 (CEV) “Fig trees may no longer bloom, or vineyards produce grapes; olive trees may be fruitless, and harvest time a failure; sheep pens may be empty, and cattle stalls vacant—but I will still celebrate because the Lord God saves me.”

Have you experienced defeat, little or big, and how have you dealt with it? The third ‘D’ that attempts to stop our cheer and keeps us from rejoicing is defeat. God has helped us dismantle depression and demolish doubt. Over the next few days, Read the rest of this entry

His Sound II

Acts 2:2 “Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.” (emphasis added)

Every great move of God is preceded by a sound. This season, you will hear both the sound of victory and the sound of freedom in Jesus Mighty Name. The first thing that births the sound of freedom is Praise and Prayer. Read the rest of this entry

His Sound I

Gen.1:1-3 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”

Yesterday, we shared the first of two things you need to know about the Holy Spirit. And that is that the Holy Spirit is a person. Did you talk to the Holy Spirit like we said? What questions did you ask Him and what was His response? Read the rest of this entry

Major Keys

2 Tim.3:16-17 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

One major key when it comes to being able to say no so that you can say yes is, you need to determine what is not worth your while. Just because something is good does not mean you should do it. Read the rest of this entry

Walk With God

Gen.14:19-20 Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered.”

You must understand scriptures and to do that, you have to seek God out for yourself. You cannot expect a child that just started walking to run a marathon. Similarly, Read the rest of this entry

GOD Of Creation

Rev.13:8 (KJV) “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (emphasis added)

John 3:16For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” God knew what He had to do to reconcile mankind to Himself, God knew Read the rest of this entry
