Prov.23:4 “Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint” [with emphasis]
I understand that after reading yesterday’s devotional, some people are still wrestling with the concept of being a workaholic. Some others are in denial and some people just want to know where the line is so they would not cross it, or to ascertain whether they have already crossed it or not. Read the rest of this entry
Caution!!!
Prov.23:4 “Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint” [with emphasis]
God honours hard work and not ‘work-a-holism’. God wants you to work hard but He does not want you to be a workaholic. God wants us to be passionate about our professions but God does not want us to be obsessed with our professions. Obsessing about your work is unhealthy. Read the rest of this entry
Move Up!
Matt.6:12 (AMPC) “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors.”
When God is prompting you to forgive someone, just forgive the person. If you refuse to follow His leading, you are holding your own self down. Jesus, in teaching us how to pray, alluded to the fact that when we do not forgive, we are holding ourselves down. Read the rest of this entry
Tenderness
Matt.5:44 (KJV) “…Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you…” [with emphasis].
The sixth way to deal with difficult people is to Respond With Love. To respond with love, you must remember two things; inspite of people’s behaviour or what they have done, in spite of how irresponsible or how saucy they are, God loves them. Read the rest of this entry
Do It Quickly
Eph.4:26-27 (GN) “If you become angry, do not let your anger lead you into sin; and do not stay angry all day. Don’t give the devil a chance.”
The fifth way to deal with difficult people is Resolve The Conflict Quickly. The question is, should a Christian ever get angry? Did Jesus ever get angry? Yes, Jesus did but that is not a license to be short fused. Inevitably, sometimes we get angry but God’s Word says, Eph.4:27 (Philips) “Never go to bed angry!” Read the rest of this entry
Yes or No?
Matt.5:36 (JB) “All you need to say is `Yes’ if you mean yes, or `No’ if you mean no; anything more than this comes from the evil one.”
Meekness is not weakness! God has not designed you to be a wimp or a doormat. He wants you to have conviction! How do you handle situations at work or in your business that put a question mark on your integrity or your stand in God? What do you do when your customer says for the relationship to continue, you have to adjust your books? Read the rest of this entry

Rom.12:2 (Philips) “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould, but let God re-mould your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of true maturity.”
Prov.22:10 (LB) “Throw out the mocker and you will be rid of tension, fighting & quarrels.” When you get rid of the gossip –the toxic person, you will be shocked how healthy your organization will become. In fact, you are sending a statement out to those people that are not gossips and the people that have a propensity to gossip. Read the rest of this entry
Just Do It!
Ps.119:132 “Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name. 133 Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.”
Me or Jesus? This is one question that every Christian must wrestle with. Lu.10:25 “One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus is just amazing! People came to Him with questions testing Him and Jesus always had the right answer for everyone. This man knew the question and the answer already and Jesus simply led him back to the truth that he already knew. Lu.10:26 Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” Read the rest of this entry
Take A Stand!
Prov.22:10 (LB) “Throw out the mocker and you will be rid of tension, fighting & quarrels.”
Disharmony destroys productivity. Nothing destroys productivity faster than disharmony. The same way, unity enhances productivity –disharmony destroys productivity. Read the rest of this entry
Zero Tolerance
Prov. 26:21 (GN) “… Wood keeps a fire burning and troublemakers keep arguments alive.”
The third step to take in dealing with difficult people is Refuse To Argue. This can be tough particularly if you have superior information but just refuse to argue. Matt.22:15 & 18 (GN) “The Pharisees went off and made a plan to trap Jesus with questions… Jesus was aware of their intent… so he said, `Why are you trying to trap me?” [with emphasis].
