Generate Wealth
‘And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest’Luke 12:16 [NIV].
Read Luke 12:16-21[NIV]. ‘This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God’. From this passage it is clear that Jesus is not beating about the bush. Jesus is saying the financial future of the person that is amassing wealth and is poor towards God is one where they are Read the rest of this entry
Growing Financial Roots
‘Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.’ Col.2:7
A tree is as established as its roots. If the roots of a tree are not holding it firmly in the ground, the tree cannot be established for long. ‘And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness’ Col.2:6-7. It is in following Jesus continuously that you are Read the rest of this entry
Two Are Better II
‘A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken’ Ecc. 4:12
‘A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer’. In other words, you can only confront what you are facing. It is difficult to confront what you are backing. God is saying that when you are in a community [marriage, family, or church] when you face one Read the rest of this entry
Two Are Better 1
‘Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed’ Ecc.4:9
God in His Word says ‘two are better than one’. No matter how big a tree is, no matter how deep its roots, and no matter how fruitful its branches are, one truth remains which is that one tree cannot make a forest. What this simply means is that we are made for relationships. We are made for connection. We Read the rest of this entry
God Is With You Always
‘When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you’ Isa.43:2
The storms you are going through in your life may be strong and turbulent but I am here to tell you today that Jesus is still the Master of the storms. God is too faithful to fail you. His presence in our lives is not tied to the seasons we go through. He is with you even in the midst of the storm. God’s promise is that Read the rest of this entry
The Wilderness
‘Then the Lord said to Moses, “look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day…’ Ex.16:4
At a point in my walk with God, the gospel I knew and we preached was ‘give your life to Jesus and all your problems will go away’. However, the truth is that is not the gospel at all. Unfortunately some people are still preaching that. Jesus says ‘in this world you will have tribulations but be of good cheer Read the rest of this entry
Beyond What We Can Get
Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ’ Col.2:8.
A lot of people have attempted to enthrone Jesus only because of what they can get from Him. That is not the kind of relationship God is proposing. God wants you to know Him and just because of what He can do for you but because of who He is. After Jesus fed the multitudes in the Bible they sought to make Read the rest of this entry
Make Jesus Your Centerpiece
‘Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness’ Col 2:7.
The third step to growing personal roots is to make Jesus the center of your life. Jesus is known as the root of David. In other words without Jesus, David is nothing. Jesus should be the root of your life; otherwise, without Jesus you are nothing. Examine your life; if you take away Jesus can you still function? Some Read the rest of this entry
Established in Righteousness II
‘A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved’ Prov.12:3 [KJV].
As a pastor, I can enter a house and discern the spiritual climate of that house [it is one of the perks of being a pastor]. I visited a family and I could tell that the mother was dancing to the tune of the child because she wanted to win the heart of the child and be known as the good parent, while the father is Read the rest of this entry
Established in Righteousness I
‘And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee’ Isa.54:13-14 [KJV].
The second step to growing personal roots is being established in righteousness. In other words, God is saying oppression, terror, fear, jealousy, approval addiction; all those things that are plaguing people that lack personal roots would be far from you when you are established in righteousness. ‘A man Read the rest of this entry
