Forgiven & Cleansed

Heb.4:15-16 “This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

When we get to heaven there are going to be at least three surprises. The first surprise when we get to heaven is, ‘surprise, I made it!’ Why would you be shocked? It is because you know yourself and you know that based on your own righteousness, you stand no chance. Read the rest of this entry

In Christ Alone

1 Jn.1:10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”

Everyone born of a woman is born a sinner, but when you come to Christ your sin is forgiven. Once and for all God saves you from the penalty of sin. God also saves you from the power of sin; while it is once and for all, it is on the level you are in. Read the rest of this entry

The Blood

Jude 1:24 “Now, to the one with enough power to prevent you from stumbling into sin[a] and bring you faultless before his glorious presence to stand before him with ecstatic delight.” (TPT)

We start today’s devotional by delving deeper into 1 John 1 from yesterday. We are still looking at the two things that must be in place for us to take bold steps towards God and they are righteousness and single-mindedness. Read the rest of this entry

Come Clean

James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (NRSV, emphasis added)

What comes to your mind when you think about God? Someone said, ‘What comes to mind when we think about God is the most important thing about us.’ So, what comes to your mind when you think about God? Read the rest of this entry

Come Boldly

Isa.1:18 “Come on now, let’s walk and talk; let’s work this out…” (Voice, emphasis added)

The Book of Psalms is filled with David confronting God. David would go to God and say, ‘God, we need to talk’. When you confront God, your destiny changes. And like we see in today’s anchor scripture, God actually invites us to come and confront Him, to come and work things out. Read the rest of this entry

The Emphasis

Gen.32:29-30 “Jacob asked, “And what’s your name?” The man said, “Why do you want to know my name?” And then, right then and there, he blessed him. Jacob named the place Peniel (God’s Face) because, he said, “I saw God face-to-face and lived to tell the story!” (MSG)

When it comes to confrontation, the key is to pass through conflict in order to achieve unity. You must keep the objective in sight with every confrontation and the objective is to achieve unity. The objective of confrontation is not to retaliate, or to humiliate, or to berate. Read the rest of this entry

Makers vs. Keepers

Matt. 5:9 “You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.” (MSG)

For you to take bold steps and move your relationships to the next level, you have to go through the A.B.C. of relationships. You have to Ask. You have to Believe. And you have to Confront. You need to confront yourself. Read the rest of this entry

Ask. Believe. Confront.

2 Tim.4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have stayed on course and finished the race, and through it all, I have kept believing.” (Voice)

To take your relationship to the next level, you need to believe and do not stop believing. Sometimes, it is yourself you need to believe in. Do not stop believing in yourself because that is usually where it starts. If you stop believing in yourself, you do not stand a chance. Read the rest of this entry

Ask & Believe

Col.3:13-14 “Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”

The first thing you need to know about the A. B. C. of taking bold steps in your relationships is A is for Asking. Matt.7:7-8 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Eric Schmidt, the Read the rest of this entry

Ask Boldly

1 Sam.17:26 “David asked the soldiers standing nearby, “What will a man get for killing this Philistine and ending his defiance of Israel? Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?”

For you to take bold steps in your relationships – with God, with your parents, with your siblings, with your friends, with your colleagues, and with your boss, you need to ASK. When I entered paid employment, my supervisor was a lady who became a manager just after I joined the organization. Read the rest of this entry
