With God And With Men II

‘Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body’ 1 Cor.6:19-20.

God says to us clearly that we do not belong to ourselves anymore. You have a stamp on you that reads, ‘property of the Most High God’. Therefore, you cannot be single and giving or receiving oral sex. You are sinning! You need to repent and ask Jesus to cleanse you. You have no business with oral sex if you are single because you are defiling yourself regardless of whether you are a biological virgin or not. Virginity is a symbol of purity by the time you begin to engage in oral sex, it is defilement. You see when it comes to Read the rest of this entry

With God And With Men I

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right’ 2 Tim.3:16

As a child of God you have to let your relationship with the Father dictate your relationship with man and not vice versa. People often wonder if surrendering to Christ means opting out of their existing relationships. Well the truth is that most of the relationships that started outside of Christ start on a wrong foundation. Therefore, when you find Christ you find out that the things that used to connect you suddenly do not exist anymore. Christ has suddenly become the center of your own world and not the person you are in a Read the rest of this entry

Pleasing Lyrics!

‘People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just then when we offer Him sacrifices’ Prov.21:2-3

Music is one art form that many of us were surrounded with growing up and it was not necessarily music with Christian lyrics. And so today there is a lot of concern about listening to or dancing to secular music. For me dancing and listening to secular music really is neither here nor there especially if they are just neutral lyrics. ‘Lean on me’ for example does not have Christian lyrics but I consider it neutral music. I know there are people who will fight you for singing songs like that. I would say don’t bother yourself with those Read the rest of this entry

You Have Control!

‘And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise’ Phil.4:8

There is a battle going on in our minds, the age-old battle between God and evil. Young men and woman find their minds going off on a tangent based on what their eyes have seen. Yet God is saying to us today that you can control your mind. In fact, the quoted translation says ‘fix your thoughts’. The only way to survive in our present day world is to exercise your God given control over your mind. ‘Finally, my brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever Read the rest of this entry

Virtue

‘Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted’ Titus 1:15

There is virtue in remaining a virgin till marriage but some Christian men claim that they have experienced rejection because of this virtue. I am certain that a Christian woman who is totally submitted to God will not have issues with her husband for being a virgin. Again the women who are rejecting you, are they really saved themselves? Check! Once you are truly saved, Jesus Christ becomes the center of your life and you are attracted to purity. In fact, I would have thought that I would be the woman complaining that it is Read the rest of this entry

Draw Near!

‘Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened’ Matt.7:7-8.

Many Christians are consumed with the feeling that they are far from God and they cannot hear Him speak or feel His tangible presence. You want my advice; follow the path that God has carefully laid out in His Word. ‘Draw near unto God and He will draw near to you!’ What are you waiting for? You need to make the first move. The truth is that God has reconciled you and I to Himself so that we can have a relationship with Him. A relationship is between two people and it involves both parties speaking and getting to Read the rest of this entry

Tongues

‘And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability’ Acts 2:4

During our question and answer series a number of life changing questions were put forward. We turned to scripture for answers because ‘all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work’ 2 Tim.3:16-17 [NIV]. Someone wanted to know if writing in tongues had scriptural backing. She had a friend who writes in tongues and she was finding it a bit confusing. Have you seen Read the rest of this entry

Choices

‘Pure and genuine religion is the sight of God the Father means caring for the orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you’ James 1:27

Are you one of those seeking Biblical based answers to why Christians shouldn’t go to the club? I believe you know the answer to this already but you are just looking for Scriptural proof. The truth is, it is what you feed that will grow in you. Nobody is a spiritual giant. The people that you think are spiritual giants deliberately control their environment. Your environment determines what grows in you. If you put a corn seed on the table for one year, when you come back it most likely will still be the corn seed. But if you put that same Read the rest of this entry

Maturity

‘Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need’ Matt.6:33

A lot of people and even Christians are concerned about the effects that wealth can have on true love especially since the Bible says ‘there will always be some poor among you’. If you read the preceding scriptures it also states that ‘There should be no poor among you, for the Lord your God will greatly bless you in the land He is giving you as a special possession’ Deut.15:4. Yes some Christians will be in lack because of the decisions they have taken by themselves. Some will also be rich because of the decisions they have taken Read the rest of this entry

Purity

‘It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart’. Mark 7:15

People are quick to quote scripture out of context for their own personal gain. Jesus describes this as ‘skillfully sidestepping God’s law in order to hold on to our own tradition’ [Read Mark 7:1-23]. So you find people in an attempt to justify bad habits such as drinking alcohol quoting this scripture because after all Jesus was the one who said It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart’. And sometimes it is people who have been wondering whether to indulge in a sinful craving Read the rest of this entry
