From Me To You

Pr.22:⁷ “Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.”

I beseech you with the Word of God – do not borrow! My wife and I have this principle in life; we agreed on it upfront and it is based on the Word of God. God’s Word says in Ps. 84:¹¹ “For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” God will not withhold anything good from them that love Him, right? So we love God;, if we need it, He will provide it! But there are some things we need that He has not provided yet. We have this confidence that it is coming. We believe it and so we will not borrow. We refuse to borrow.

If anyone tells you that I have borrowed money from him or her, it is a lie! I do not borrow money from anybody. I have gone through challenging situations. I have gone through things that even my wife was asking how we were going to get out of it. I know people that will be happy to write a cheque to pay my bills without even thinking. I have been pastoring for over ten years and I have never asked anybody for money. I am not sharing this out of arrogance but I am showing you that everybody will go through a tight spot, but they that know their God will be strong and do exploits.

If you do these things, the things you are being taught, you will be surprised that those things you thought you would die without will come and go and you will still be alive. In fact, you will be better off by standing your ground. Pr.22:⁷ “Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.” God does not want you to be a servant to anybody. I understand that businesses need to get some facilities to aid expansion. But even on the business front, before you incur any debt of any size, ask in prayer and evaluate it spiritually, economically, psychologically and the personal ramification of the decision. Evaluate the pressure it is going to put on you, on all those fronts, before you even do it. God is saying to us, Step Up financially and that means, Earn some and Spend less!
