True Worth

Matt.7:¹¹ [MSG] “You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?”

Children typically do not question the parent’s direction, they just follow. Even when they ask questions, it is just for asking sake. We must be like these little children with God. I am like a child with God because that is what He requires of me. I just follow Him; if He says we should do something, then we do it because He says so. Does it always make sense? It does not have to make sense, we are just following His flow. Sometimes it is hard, but we just follow the Lord. Just like children, we ought to move without any cares or worries, just follow God, your Father.

Matt.6:²⁵ “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? ²⁶ Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? ²⁷ Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? ²⁸ “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, ²⁹ yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. ³⁰ And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”

God is saying, do not worry about not having new clothes and shoes for the children this Christmas. Do not worry about what you will have or not have to eat. God wants you to know that you are far more valuable than the birds of the air. If God will care for the birds of the air, then do not doubt God’s provision for you. I like hanging out with children and adults but if I were to choose, I would hang out more with children because they do not have problems. Children do not carry offence in their hearts; they forgive and forget easily. Flog a child today and by tomorrow they are hugging you like nothing happened. Children are just like that but not many adults are.

In playing with both groups, I have noticed a lot of differences between children and adults. One major difference is children actually [mostly] believe they are valuable. But that is not always the case with adults. A lot of adults believe they do not matter. I play with all kinds of children, children whose parents are struggling heavily financially and children whose parents have a lot of money. Guess what? Both groups feel extremely valuable and take equal pride in their parents. You are extremely valuable to God. God will certainly care for you.
