Lack Of Accountability

Accountability is important for every Christian. When we don’t have accountability in our lives, it is harder to spot when we are derailing and more difficult to repent. There has to be someone that you are accountable to. If you are married, you should work on that person being your spouse. It may not be your spouse from day one, depending on where you are in your marriage, but the ideal person should be your spouse. Someone that can tell you the truth, your friends may not tell you the truth but your wife will. Those friends you think respect you are just not telling you the truth. We have to be accountable to someone; someone you are totally honest and transparent with. There has to at least one person you are totally honest and transparent with. If there are things in your life you are struggling with, you can talk to the person and the person can pray with you and stand by you through that period of trial or temptation. ‘Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. So we confess our sins to God for forgiveness and for cleansing but we confess our sins to men for healing. If there is something you have been struggling with,  you should find an  accountability partner and  be  open with the person. The next step is for you to pray together. That prayer is powerful and it will bring healing. What are you struggling with right now and who have you discussed it with? Are you struggling with pornography, who have you opened up to? Look at it like this, if God can forgive you, who are men to judge you. Is it better to appear spiritual to man and burn in hell? Find at least one person you can ask for help and  pray with. Do you find yourself drawn to someone and it is resulting in negative thoughts? Shout out for help today and stay accountable. No man is above sin. When you come to the knowledge of this, it helps you attach the right importance to accountability.

Prayer: Father, help me understand the importance and value of accountability in my life. Lead me to someone that I can be accountable to, in Jesus Name.
