Know This II
‘Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm’ Eph.6:13
The next thing you need to know that will help you is that your prayers are more powerful than you ever know. The truth is that if we Christians know how powerful our prayers are then we will pray every time and like Jesus says without ceasing. Yet the reality is that we are completely unaware. We pray but we nurse doubts and uncertainty in our hearts about the answers to the prayers. God says ‘Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward’ Heb.10:35 [KJV]. God invites us to come boldly to the throne of grace so that we will obtain mercy and find grace to help us in time of need. It’s better to spend time with God and go late for a meeting than walk out naked spiritually. The Bible says ‘put on every piece of God’s armor’ but some people still ignore these instructions and never do them. God says ‘stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere’ Eph.6:14-18. In other words, if you don’t put on the whole armor of God when the day of evil comes you will not be able to stand. Each of these items really points to Jesus. I will encourage you to take time out daily putting on your armor.
Another key thing you have to know is that we do not fight for victory, we fight from victory. So as a child of God you are not fighting to obtain victory but you stand in the place of victory and are enforcing that victory in your life through speaking the Word over your situation. For instance, when you are physically sick in your body you are praying to enforce the healing that the wounds of Jesus have secured for you. Yet when you are unaware of this, you may experience defeat in this area.
Prayer: In Jesus Name I put on the whole armor of God. I put on the helmet of salvation, the body armor of righteousness, the belt of truth, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, I lift up the shield of faith, and feet shod with the gospel.
