Stirring

Psalm 34:7 “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” (NIV).

The supernatural is with us. God has never left us. There are angels around us. There are angels even wherever you are right now, and they are carrying out God’s instructions. Psalm 103:20Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands.” The Bible says in John 5:4For an angel of the Lord went down at appointed seasons into the pool and moved and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was cured of whatever disease with which he was afflicted.” (AMPC, emphasis added). God visits us seasonally. Yes, God is always present with us.

However, there is the Habitation and there is the Visitation. The Habitation is consistently with us. But when there is a specific thing that God wants to do, there is the Visitation of God. And if you are sensitive, and you know how God works with you, you will know when there is a visitation. You can discern the presence of an angel, and you can understand the presence and the intensity of the Holy Spirit. So, you are able to engage further and get the best of the situation. For instance, Abraham had that sensitivity. The Bible says in Genesis 18, that some strangers were passing by, but Abraham could sense that these people were not ordinary people. He discerned that they were angels of the Lord with the Angel of the Lord. So, Abraham constrained them to stay, and he entertained them.

In the New Testament Peter encourages us in Hebrews 13:2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” Some people have entertained angels without knowing. You have to be nice to people, random people, just be nice to people. Be known as someone who just goes everywhere, doing good. You should consistently be hospitable to strangers. In different cultures around the world, people have become suspicious of everybody. And we should be cautious because the world has gotten darker. However, we should be sensitive. Like the stirring of the waters in scripture, from time to time the waters of our hearts are stirred up.

The Holy Spirit stirs us up and we have to pay attention. There is a move of God happening on our insides or in our environments, we have to pay attention. For us in God’s Favourite House, one of such is the God Will Do It Again season. There is a stirring, and you have to plug in.

Prayer: Father, I ask for a heart that is sensitive and responsive to the move and the stirring of the Holy Spirit, and alert to the supernatural, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
