Prepare
Proverbs 31:15 “She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.”
Have you noticed that even in the day that we reckon with, the day starts when it is dark? When the clock switches to one minute past midnight, it is a new day, right? But in most climes and most countries, it is still dark at that time. If you see the sun at full blast at midnight, you know that maybe it is rapture. Rapture has happened or is happening. Midnight is dark; one-minute past midnight is still dark. But guess what? One minute past midnight is a new day. You can look outside, and it is still dark, but it is a new day. So, what does that mean?
It means in essence that when there is a prophetic declaration that it is a new day, it is actually a new day. But you can look through the curtain of that situation, and it is still dark. It is a new day; it just doesn’t look like it yet. You can look through the window of marriage, and it is still dark. But God is saying it is a new day. It is actually a new day. If you prepare as if it is a new day, by the time the dawn breaks and the light comes, boom! You are ready. However, if you don’t embrace the fact that it is a new day, you don’t position yourself or prepare for the day. You don’t rest well, take a quick shower, brush your teeth, and iron your clothes. By the time the day breaks, you will not be ready.
The break of the day, the appearance of the sun is not the beginning of the day. The beginning of the day is when it is declared that it is a new day! And because it is a new day, you need to realize that God expects you to begin to make progress in that day, even if it is still dark. Elijah said to Ahab, “Run so that the rain does not stop you“. He saw a cloud like the hand of a man. It was not raining for crying out loud. The cloud had not even gathered. But he said run! And that is how the Word of God is. Prepare because the day has broken. It is a new day for you in the Name of Jesus. Prepare!
The first thing about the day is Vision. And when I say vision, yes, physical vision, but also mental and spiritual vision. You need to begin to think about your day. If you are the kind of person who makes lists, you can write your to-do list for the day. You are envisioning the day. And of course, the statistics of those who prepare for the day before dawn show that they are extremely more productive than those who only start thinking about the day when it dawns. Those who prepared for the day while it was dark have the advantage.
Prayer: Father, even as I wait on You, equip me for the new day that You have brought me into, cause my vision to be clear and sharp, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
