Come Flourishing!

1 Cor.15:42-43 “…Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever.  Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.” (emphasis added).

I can imagine the scene; Jesus was taken to the cross and the disciples were thinking, “He told us last night that He would be alive, and we will come alive.” Instead, they saw Jesus crucified on the cross. They must have felt deflated, this was nothing like the great things they had imagined. Read the rest of this entry

He Lives!

John 14:19 “In a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you’re going to see Me because I am alive and you’re about to come alive!” (MSG, emphasis added)

Happy Resurrection! Jesus is alive and that is a big deal! John 14:19 “In a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you’re going to see Me because I am alive and you’re about to come alive!(MSG, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Done! Finished!

Matt.27:46 “At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

Jesus became sin so that we can become the righteousness of God. Jesus became sin so that we can be forgiven. Jesus was forsaken so that we can be accepted. Jesus was rejected so that we can be accepted. Every time you stand before God and something tells you that you are rejected, point it to the cross. Read the rest of this entry

Cherished

John 14:19 “In just a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you’re going to see Me because I am alive and you’re about to come alive!” (MSG, emphasis added)

Please read Mark 15:21-41. The night before Jesus was crucified, He made a very strange statement; strange considering the context He was in. The disciples were expecting the Messiah as a conquering king that will come and physically liberate the nation of Israel. Read the rest of this entry

For Love Sake

Rom. 5:8 (AMP) “But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God wants you to be His friend. He is not interested in religion. God wants a relationship with you. Do you know why you are here right now and not six feet under? Do you know why you are not in other horrible places that you could possibly be in today? Read the rest of this entry

God-Assured

Rom.15:13 “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

During my study of the Bible, on the things that give us confidence in God, I came across over twenty things. However, we will examine four of them. The first thing that gives confidence in God is the fact that God offers to forgive everything I have done. Read the rest of this entry

Clear Confidence

John 3:36…whoever accepts and trusts God’s Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! (But) the person who avoids and distrusts God’s Son is in the dark and doesn’t see life…” (MSG, paraphrased, emphasis added)

Our walk with God is a walk of faith. When you step out and walk with God in faith, God gives you clarity. When clarity comes, you take your next step. Some answers are waiting for you on step five, but you are on step two. God says, take the next step, move to step three. But you are insisting on getting answers now. Read the rest of this entry

Faith Moves

Matt. 5:8 When you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right, then you can see God in the outside world.” (MSG).

Your heart and your mind determine what you see through your eyes. It is not your physical eyes that determine what you see. It is your heart and your mind that determines what you see not your eyes. Read the rest of this entry

Clarity

John 8:12I am the Light of the world. So if you follow me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, for living light will flood your path.” (TLB, emphasis added).

What happens when Jesus gives me a fresh start? When Jesus gives me a fresh start, I get three things. The first thing I get is, New Clarity About Life. I start to see life differently, to see other people differently, and to see God differently. Read the rest of this entry

The Essentials

Joshua 1:8 “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”

Rom. 6:4b Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the wonderful power of the Father, we can also live a new life.” (NCV, emphasis added). This new life the Bible is talking about here, does it apply to people who have been Christians for over thirty years, people that may be referred to as old Christians? Yes, it does.
